“That,” Ilya said slowly, pointing at the offending machine. “Has been fucking chirping in the Kappa Delta house for three days. Hourly. Connor thought he was hallucinating.”
Shane placed it back onto his desk with a shrug. “Okay?”
“Okay? Okay?” Ilya leaned down into Shane’s face, tone threatening. “You have started something you do not want us to finish.”

Shane’s eyes glazed over with tears as they stared into each others eyes. Ilya looked curious, worried, and fearful. “What is wrong? You’re so distressed, is not good.” Ilya’s accent thickened as his worry grew, English was always harder for him when he was emotional. Instead of speaking, Shane reached into his large hoodie pocket, lifting out the stick he had just spent ten minutes crying over before coming over. Ilya looked confused, but took the stick gently from Shane’s hands.
“Oh, fuck.” Ilya held it tightly his head snapping from the stick to Shane, back and forth, over and over again. “Fuck, oh, that’s-your-”

Summary
There was a quieter, smaller part of Shane that recognized that one of the reasons he didn’t want to share a room with him was because, despite everything, Rozanov was objectively incredibly attractive, and he found the cocky asshole act very charming. Due to proximity he’d also managed to see a softer, kinder side to Ilya, which made the cocky asshole the worst thing of all - endearing.
