  1. Summary

(Based on my original universe unofficially known as Children Destrane)

So...Lilili_cat's "Hidden in Stagnant Pools" was so sad and depressing one of my OCs decided to commit cross-fandom character theft and this was born.

  2. Summary

Plant a Dragon's teeth and you can have an army of grown warriors, or so the legend said.

(Or: how the Hatake can either be born naturally or planted from a Hatake tooth, an offering of the flesh and the clan's White chakra.)

Alternatively known as that AU where the Hatake are actually Agricultural Experts and the Mokuton is an actual bloodline limit.

Will oscillate between humor and tragedy. Also full of (mostly Hatake) OCs alongside canon characters. I also don't take any of the pairings seriously, so some may not be to your taste.

    Read at your own risk.

Ango doesn’t bother telling them that there’s no way they can defeat soukoku—not when Dazai can manipulate his heartbeat to do Morse Codes, on top of Chuuya being so attuned to Dazai’s heartbeat that he can interpret it without the need for surveillance devices.

Ango chalks it up to Chuuya being Arahabaki’s vessel and is therefore capable of ridiculous things —because the alternative is that Chuuya is just that synchronized with Dazai and that is a fate too cruel to wish on anyone.

Nobody who’s witnessed soukoku’s teenage years try to stop them—because soukoku is the reigning King of party games. On the contrary, Kouyou and Hirotsu are more than satisfied with adding embarrassing words (e.g. compassion, cuddling, body warmth, Eskimo kiss) for Dazai to guess.

Ranpo busies himself with gorging on candy, because he doesn’t need to use Ultra Deduction to know how this one will end. Atsushi uses Wikipedia’s Random Page Generator in an effort to bypass soukoku.

Mori watches the proceedings and thinks that surely, it’s a matter of time until Dazai realizes that he misses being part of the Port Mafia. Fufufu, this is all according to plan.

From the other room, supposedly waiting for their next challenge, Dazai and Chuuya are… occupied. With a fairly-controlled food fight.

Which involves Dazai smearing his mouth with cake frosting and licking it off very lasciviously. Which involves Chuuya countering by fellating a limp spaghetti noodle and laughing at Dazai’s affronted look.

    -----

(Kunikida despairs as he tallies yet another correct answer. “Just how are they doing this.”)

Then, Chuuya looks at the next word, and snarls as he clenches the paper, making to lunge and strangle Dazai.
Dazai grins as he dances away from the murder attempt. “Anton van Leeuwenhoek.” Ding.

(Lucy tugs at her braids as she sees the odd couple rack up points, frustrated and awed in equal measures. “What is wrong with Japan.”

“It’s just them,” Kyouka says quietly. “Japan is a very good country otherwise.”)

    A roll of eyes.
    “Mountain climbing.”

    A twirl of fingers.
    “IKEA.”

A very, very slight shift in stance.
    “Tanabata Festival!”

(Akutagawa looks enraptured. And then he glares at Atsushi. “We’re going to achieve that level, jinko.”

Atsushi suddenly looks like Christmas has arrived early. It’s the day when he gets lots of chazuke coupons, after all. “I-I-I feel the same way too. About you.”

“And then Dazai-san will be proud of me.”

    “…Oh.”)

"You still think of me as family?" He finally asked, a prick of fear in his heart as to what the answer might be.

Corazon seamed taken aback by this, but answered easily.

"You're a monster Doffy, but you are my brother. I don't have anyone else."

That cut unexpectantly deep with Doffy, who turned and left without another word. It wasn't until he returned to the ship a week later that he next saw Corazon, pale and anxious on the dock. He looked up at Doffy with that familiar mix of fear and determination, but now Doffy understood why it shook his heart. Cora was still his little brother, lost and afraid without him.

No matter how much of a monster Doffy became, Cora could not leave him. They were family, and that's all that they needed. When Cora then turned around and left a simple note, taking Law with him, Doffy did not feel betrayed or concerned. Law took after Doffy, and Cora had years of experience with that.

While mopping up the blood, she noticed Maul was awake. "Oh, master. The cultist's awake now."

"Yes Scylla. I have just finished interrogating him."

    Maul blinked. What?

"So, is he really a Sith?"

Amon nodded. "Apparently so. He told me much about his upbringing and the one who taught him."

    Wait, What!?

Scylla's lekku curled. "Funny. The Sith were supposed to be gone for, like, a thousand years. And you just find one on some random junk planet?"

    WHAT!

"Currents of the Great Ocean Scylla. A Sorcerer violates probability and defies what should happen all the time. Meaning the currents of chance and coincidence that circle around us are equally improbable."

The twi'lek thought for a moment. "So, the more someone uses Force powers, the more likely it is for unlikely stuff to happen around them?"

    "Exactly so, yes."

As understanding began to dawn, and Maul realised how he'd been tricked, he threw his head back and screamed his rage for the universe to hear.

Covering her ears, Scylla looked at the screaming lunatic. "What the hell is his problem?!"

"Just ignore him, becoming melodramatic is a common trait of cultists."

    Summary

The first thing that goes wrong for Aether upon arriving in Liyue is that he gets accused of assassinating their god.

The second is what happens after he tells the suspiciously non-human hooligan by the beach about it, who takes it less than well.

“So… that guy doesn’t actually own this place, does he?” Paimon, who has been too nervous to speak so far, finally asks.

“Not necessarily. Tartaglia just likes to place claims over things he likes.” Zhongli touches his red earring again; Aether’s about 80% sure he doesn’t do it on purpose. “He loves the seaside. The first genuine compliment he ever gave for my land was that the beaches were beautiful. I told him he was free to visit them as long as he behaved and didn’t make a mess.”

“And then he literally put his name on it?” Aether asks.

“Not immediately, no. Tartaglia has horrible Liyuen, and he’d been under contract to not tarnish my beaches. At the time, however, he’d been having Ganyu tutor him just enough so that he could write his own name, and I had been too impressed that he managed to do it properly to admonish him for vandalizing the landscape.” He pauses to look at his own name. “Well, his name and mine. When I saw that he added it, I assumed he’d just been showing off and told him to limit his tomfoolery to outside of further damaging my wildlife. He was not very pleased by that.”

Please don’t assume the length of their lives correlates with their emotional intelligence, Signora had said.

Maybe Aether, too, would be a bitter vampire lady if he had to deal with this for thousands of years.

“Gods are weird ,” Paimon whispers when Zhongli drifts off into his own world again.

    Summary

Childe didn't dream much before coming to Liyue, if he did, it was memories of blood, not fantasies.

But then there was the Geo Archon. An Archon of War. Childe had heard the storytellers' proud tales of their God, Rex Lapis, read the lengthy novels, and seen the lands that told tales of their own of the Lord of Geo. And Childe couldn't help smiling at the stories of stone spears piercing the earth and sea. A nearly seven thousand year old warrior who had lived through an era of nothing but battles and who had won.

To say Childe was eager to fight the archaic God was to make the greatest understatement in all of Teyvat's history.

Then the Rite of Receiving. The War God assassinated. Childe went back to dark dreamless nights, his dream of fighting that unparalleled power suddenly gone. Then betrayal yet odd relief came when he found Zhongli and Rex Lapis were in fact the same being. It stung, but in a way Childe felt was karma. The omissions he could excuse, but Childe couldn’t forgive himself for what followed. Dreams rushed back to him and now Rex Lapis held a new more attractive form, Zhongli.

    Bookmarker's Notes

"I nearly beat a ten year old boy to death for bullying Tonia only a week after returning from the Abyss." Well, that wound may have been ripped harsher at the reminder of his family's radio silence since his announcement of marriage and grandchildren, but he forced himself past it. "My father is scared of me. Most of my family is, otherwise they don't actually know who I am or what I do. Tonia doesn't remember, but I remember listening to her wailing, begging me to stop, and I just didn't want to. I wanted that boy's skull crushed in by my hand. I couldn't be with anyone who couldn't understand this… this shit in my head. You do and you fucking love me for it."

    "Childe…"

"Ever since we've started being with each other, I have someone who helps me, understands and sedates those desires rather than runs or forces me to change. But you make me want to be better. I've never wanted that. Yet you still touch me as if I'm worth something without trying to make me something I'm not…" Childe stopped. Something wet was on his face.

"Ajax." Zhongli slid his arms from his shoulders to wrap around him and pull him close. "Of course, I do."
