“Mr. Wayne,” Clark greets, taking the man’s hand in his, “It’s a pleasure to officially meet you.”
“Ah,” Bruce says, and even though his lips curl into a smooth grin, Clark can feel his pulse stutter from where his fingertips rest firm on his radial pulse.
“Forgive me,” Clark practically purrs, surprising even himself, “How could I forget my manners? Clark Kent, from the Daily Planet.”
There's a choking sound next to him, and a quick glance shows a red-faced, bug-eyed Jimmy, and a shrewd Lois looking at him as if he'd sprouted horns.
“Mr. Kent,” Bruce says, voice dropping an octave, eyes darkening, “Trust me, the pleasures all mine.”
They both smile with entirely too many teeth.

The worse he gets, the less he’ll trust anyone, let alone you.” Dick doesn’t respond. “One last thing,” he says, packing up his stuff, “The longer you stay away, the more he’ll know he doesn’t fit in anymore.” Jason sighs, “I don’t usually do this-this emotional shit, but it fucking sucks, Dick. It sucks, coming back and finding the world has left you behind. And I know it sucked for you - losing him - but going on like this?” Jason’s half out the door now. “You’ll lose him all over again.”
Dick’s left in the silence.
Wally, his heart chants, Wally, Wally, Wally.
“Free of charge, Dickface!” He can hear Jason’s echo from down the hall, “Don’t count on this shit again!”
Wally, his brain whispers, go see Wally.
He calls Roy.
