"Bob. Bob and his dark eyes. Bob and his shaking hands. The way he looked at her. That was the problem. That was what Yelena didn’t know how to deal with. She’d never been cared for, at least not in the open, innocent way Bob cared for her. Cared for them all. She could tell they all struggled with it, some days. Saw the way Walker stared disbelievingly when Bob had woken up early and made his protein shake for him. The confusion in Ava’s eyes when he gave her a weighted blanket, just because his therapist recommended one to him and he thought she might like it. The way he knocks on her door when she has a nightmare. The way he comes to her when the Void starts calling louder. It made her feel important. Made her-
Okay. Fuck. She thinks she might be in love with him." -

Jayce and Viktor have been dating for six months. Things are good. Sure, they might not have kissed. Maybe Jayce jerks away from him at night when he tries to intertwine their legs together. Things are fine, though. Seriously, Vi. Everything’s fine.

Summary
After Yelena turns her recurring alarm off and accepts the usual towel from him to dry off—but before she can grab her bag and leave—he blurts out, “Where are you going?”
His heart is pounding in his chest as she halts in her movements and stares up at him with surprise. She hesitates, then says, “Catching up with a friend.”
No mouth twitch. But— The red flush on her cheeks. The one that built up from the last hour she spent flawlessly pivoting and stabbing a dagger at an imaginary force. It deepens.
She starts blushing.
He’s losing his mind.
Or
Yelena has a secret.
Bob gets to the bottom of it (and maybe learns a few extra things as well).

Summary
Erik Lehnsherr has been 'fighting for mutant rights' for the last couple years. Some might call it terrorism, but those people were narrow-minded. Unfortunately, this means that when Magda Maximoff died, no one was able to locate him to let him know that his children were without a guardian. Charles Xavier was selected as their foster parent instead, and had been doing an excellent job for the past year. Erik is back now and has no intention of being separated from his children, but working together for the kids is easier said than done.
In a different situation— some anonymous bar in some overpopulated city, perhaps— Erik would absolutely have been interested. He was slender and looked about Erik’s age, but his eyes took up the majority of his face and were almost alarmingly blue. His dark curls looked like they were made for a hand to fist in. His anger was nearly palpable, sparking off him in waves that Erik could physically feel. Under any other circumstance, he’d be attracted, would have immediately started things working to get the pretty little Englishman back to his place.
Not this circumstance.
“You will not,” the Brit snarled at Erik, “Not be taking custody of my children.”

Summary
[“If you feel lost,” Sidon says, and Link looks up into his gold, earnest eyes. Often he can only manage to look people right in the eyes for a momentary second before, inexplicably, it hurts, and he has to divert to their nose or eyebrows, but his gaze holds Sidon’s for long enough that not even Link can mistake his sincerity. “If you feel lost, know that you are always found here. In Zora’s Domain. That—I am always happy to find you, my dearest friend.” ]
A night and a day in Zora's Domain.

Summary
“Your parents have been grooming you to take over the company, correct? You’ve been working closely alongside them, alongside their best scientists and technicians. I’m sure you’ve learned a fair deal. We could use that expertise at Stark Industries.”
“Essentially,” Parker says, “you want to pay me to reveal my parents’ company secrets.”
“Yes,” Tony says, cheerfully. “Thank you for catching on so quickly.”
—
Tony’s week just turned a lot more promising: Rich kid Peter Parker has apparently dropped out of college and provoked the ire of his parents. A delicious scandal for the tabloids. And an opportunity too good to waste, even if it means putting up with a snooty, preppy college kid as his new intern. -

Summary
Peter never made any plans to run away, until the day he leaves. It isn’t an idea that slowly creeps up on him. He just stands over the sink one day in early spring, watching his father’s bright red ashtray bob up through the soap bubbles, and feels an overwhelming urge to get the hell out of this place.
Two years later. Tony Stark has been keeping his identity as Iron Man a secret, successfully hiding behind his spoiled, rich asshole persona. It’s isolating, but he doesn’t even like people anyway, so it’s fine, he’s fine, he’s great. And then he gets saddled with a new intern, who isn’t just hiding secrets: he’s barely holding it together.
