Summary
Minho lives a simple life. He makes potions, tends to plants, and waits to see his friends again. One day, while he's out picking herbs for his next potion, he finds an injured wolf to nurse back to health (and eventually, a boyfriend).
“I’m taking care of a wolf,” he says, and Seungmin is carefully still for a minute. He seems to be mulling that over, but Minho doesn’t have time to wait for him. Instead, he starts working. He pulls out all of the herbs he needs for today, and starts boiling water on the stove.
“And why are you taking care of a wolf? Seriously, his scent is all over you. What, are you sleeping on him?” Seungmin demands after a minute, and Minho rolls his eyes.
“You’re being dramatic. It’s not a big deal, Minnie. He’s hurt, and I’m helping him until he can move again.”- Language:

The interview continued, and with each question, Minho felt that gnawing sensation in his stomach grow stronger. When had he last seen Chan smile like that—soft and genuine, without the weight of leadership pressing down on his shoulders? When had Chan ever looked at any of them with that same open, almost vulnerable expression he was giving Junho now?
The realization hit him like a cold splash of water; Chan was performing for them too. Not the same polished performance he gave to cameras and crowds, but something else entirely. Around the group, Chan was the strong one, the reliable one, the one who carried all their burdens without complaint. His smiles were encouraging, his words carefully measured to build them up, his presence a constant source of stability.
But here, with someone older, someone who could shoulder the weight of being the senior in the room, Chan seemed to melt. His laugh was lighter, his posture more relaxed, his answers more honest and unguarded. It was like watching someone take off armor they'd forgotten they were wearing.

Minho ran a hand over the dog- over Berry’s ear. “She just wanted to say hi,” he said, watching her through the new crack in his glasses. “Right?”
“Well, she should say it nicely,” the stranger said with a pout. Then, softening, “Again, I’m really sorry. She’s usually better at listening, just not used to the birds yet.” Guilt still shone in his eyes, eased with a smile. “Can I get your name, at least? I’m Chan.”
Minho ran another hand over Berry’s ear. The man’s words did explain why Minho hadn’t seen him before; yet implied newness, an intent to familiarize. Minho couldn’t help his intrigue. Strangely, he didn’t mind that it had come at the expense of a sore tailbone or fractured glasses.
He offered a small smile in response. “Minho.”

It transformed from the cape of the strongest man on the planet into an infant's swaddle; a relic of a dead world, a soft token of a mother's love that was strong enough to keep her baby safe thirty-three years later. Bruce hadn't cried in almost eighteen years, but tonight, he was about to break that streak.
