Summary
Fatumsomnambulism is a syndrome that causes soulmates to sleepwalk to each other. It only affects a small portion of the population, leading many people to not take it seriously. The world is full of skeptics, after all.
Emily Prentiss is one of those skeptics. Frustrated by the inconsistencies in her sleepwalking depending on where she lives, and the trouble it continues to get her in, she hopes for the day she can kick the habit.
On the other hand, Jennifer Jareau is a believer in fatumsomnambulism. She holds onto the hope that she might meet her soulmate one day, but as more time passes, it’s harder to hold onto that hope.
From growing up and attending school, to starting careers and joining the FBI, they’re faced with navigating a world constantly pulling them together. What will happen when they finally meet in the middle?

"We're separated," the woman said from the foot of the stairs. "So you're not a home wrecker, if that's what you're worried about."
Trinity looked back at the photo of two laughing kids on a lush lawn treating an equally laughing man like their jungle gym. A man who was unmistakably Dr Frank Langdon.
"That's, uh. Not what I was worried about," Trinity said.

Summary
Trinity Santos thinks love languages are bullshit. She proclaims so loudly, the first time she hears the term. No one loves in just one way, and sometimes she doesn’t believe love exists at all. Which is what makes to fucking hard for Yolanda to get it through her skull that the flirting she's been not so subtly doing for the entire time they've known each other? It's not a joke.
Aka the five ways Yolanda creeps in on the edges of her life without her even noticing, and the moment the penny drops.

“I don’t think your girlfriend likes me very much,” The patient says, words slurring as he gestures towards the curtain lazily. "The mean surgeon chick who was just here. Dartmouth lady. Your girlfriend. She seems pissed. Are you guys fighting? Or is she always like that?
Samira doesn't mind working on New Year's Eve, mostly because it gives her an excuse to avoid going out. What she does mind is the number of drunk patients who throw up on her, the drunk patients who assume she and Emery Walsh are together because of a shared hoodie, and the drunk patients who demand she and Walsh kiss when the clock hits midnight.

Summary
“Hi,” Trinity said as she turned back toward the smirking woman, still feeling a bit stunned.
“Hello,” the woman’s tone was amused as she crossed the room toward the computer by Trinity's bed. “I’m Doctor Yolanda Garcia, I’m here for a surgical consult.”
“I’m Trinity,” Trinity said with an awkward wave. “Trinity Santos.”
“I know who you are,” Yolanda said. “I watched the Olympics last summer.”
“Right,” Trinity would never get used to the fact that people just knew of her. But at least in this case it meant that she’d seen Trinity in other circumstances, when she didn’t look like death warmed over in fluorescent hospital lighting.
“Can you tell me more about the pain you’re experiencing?” Yolanda asked as she looked through Trinity’s chart.
Trinity had never had good luck. People might argue with that since she had multiple Olympic gold medals, but those were all from hard fucking work, no luck involved. So it fully made sense that she'd end up in the emergency room and have one of the most attractive women she'd ever seen as the surgeon assigned to her case because the universe couldn't even let her have a good meet-cute.

Summary
“Dr. Walsh,” Samira called, adjusting the bag on her shoulder. “You’re still here?”
Emery’s head lifted. For a beat, surprise flickered across her features before she smoothed it away. “Paperwork,” she said simply. “Piles up whether I’m here or not.”
Samira smiled, sipping her coffee. “At least paperwork doesn’t bleed all over your shoes.”
The past several months had been rough for Dr. Samira Mohan, but now she was finding her footing again: taking on more shifts, steadying her routine, and wrestling with an unfamiliar pull toward Dr. Emery Walsh.

Summary
Trinity laid on the kitchen floor, staring up at the fluorescent ceiling light like it could maybe help her figure out a way to undo this entire night.
“Uh… are you okay?” Dennis asked, peering over at her.
“I made a huge mistake,” Trinity replied, covering her face with her hands. She didn’t know whether to laugh or cry about the entire situation.
“What happened?” She could hear the scrape of the chair as Dennis got up, could sense him crouching down next to her.
Trinity dropped her hands and looked at him, “I accidentally fucked Langdon’s wife.”
For a solid thirty seconds, Dennis just stared down at her. Eyes wide, mouth agape, as he processed that information.
And then he started laughing. Hysterically.

“I don’t see Garcia,” Whitaker chimes in from beside her.
“I didn’t ask,” Trinity replies stiffly.
“But you’re looking for her, right?”

“Come on, Dr. Walsh. Let me help you. Give me a clue.”
To distract herself, to give herself a break from the doe eyes earnestly watching her, she ducked her head to read the clue off the page again. “Feelings of anxiety or dismay. Thirteen letters. I think the first letter is a C because the down answer is-”
“Oh! Consternation!”
Emery’s head snapped up to find Mohan beaming at her, face split into an impossibly wider smile. Jesus Christ, did they make her in a lab? She could practically smell the praise kink humming just beneath Mohan’s skin.

Summary
It’s one of those things—words, phrases, insults, sometimes even compliments—that sticks with Trinity, even though it shouldn’t. Lodges itself somewhere in the gaps of her ribcage, so with each step she can feel it there under skin, flesh and digging through bone. It grooves into the recesses of her mind, it gets caught in her throat, she can taste those words just on the tip of her tongue and she really fucking hates it.
Much like everything else her stupid brain clings to (it’s a trauma response, she knows that, she’s a doctor, but calling her brain stupid is easier than really facing the problem) it sticks.
Trouble, trouble, trouble.
Or: Trinity Santos learns to let her guard down, just a little bit.

Summary
Darnell nodded, glancing over Robby like he was trying to place him in the hierarchy of important to ignorable and it could go either way. "What's this?"
"MSF FNG," Jack shot back. Whatever that meant, he sounded amused.
Darnell scoffed and looked to Robby, expression going decidedly unimpressed. "Oh, yeah? You here to find yourself? Have an adventure? Do something hard?" he asked, each question more mocking than the last.
And there was that question again, like it was haunting Robby. He stifled his instinct to bite back and kept it simple: "I'm here to help."
