Peter Parker, grieving the loss of Aunt May and Uncle Ben, needs a change. That's what his grief counselor says, anyway. So he makes an impulsive and massive one: He buys a farm. He doesn't mean for it to turn in a rescue for broken things, he just... he can't help but love the animals that no one else wants. Thus, when he overhears a greasy, crude asshole trying to pawn off a rooster in the middle of a farmer's market, he doesn't hesitate.
But there's something wrong with this rooster. It doesn't crow at sunrise—which is the only thing Peter expects a rooster would do—but it does holler its tail off whenever Peter bends over. And it follows him around and clucks like it's talking to him. And it's weirdly good at killing the vermin around the house.
There's a mystery afoot. Peter's going to get to the bottom of it.

A family drama where Dean repairs his relationships and figures out what it means to do better in a post-Chuck world. Jack finds himself, Dean purges his poison, Sam rediscovers his individuality, and John contends with who he is. Claire learns how to let herself be seen, and Mary learns to accept and grow past her objectification. I wanted to explore the similarities between John and Dean Winchester as fathers and how that impacts their relationships with their respective children (and spouses) today.
This fic also interrogates many problematic aspects of the Supernatural TV world with realism, including its treatment of women. Don't worry, there are fun bits too: Jack makes Cas-glasses to help him find his dad.
I love all 15 seasons despite/because of SPN's flaws.

Summary
This is my most ambitious series so far, Apophis, give me strength! Through a succession of short stories, "Slow burn" pretends to explore Jack and Daniel's feelings for each other as they grow during their years in SG-1, episode by episode. Although the first 3 seasons contain continuous references to Daniel/Sha're I eluded tagging this relationship to avoid confusing the readers. "Slow burn" is everything about Jack/Daniel and at some point it will end up being explicit slash. The idea is to post at least one or two stories weekly, so this is going to be a long journey. Let's see how it goes! What is it left to say? Enjoy!
