After pleading insanity to murdering his flatmate and best friend, Franklin Delano Donut, he was sent to the Blood Gulch Institute For the Criminally Insane.
Derek Church had been living in the Institute for quite a while, after murdering someone because it was the logical thing to do, to help his younger brother, Leonard Church Jr., who was having a mental breakdown. After being bored and depressed for so long, the newest addition to Blood Gulch has managed to catch his interest. After all, you don't meet someone with such a severe case of Multiple Personality Disorder every day, do you?

Summary
Lucifer has his fair share of scars - from the Fall, and the events leading up to it. But when a new wound with a certain origin appears on his body, with no cause for it to be there, he has to grapple with the fact that he's sharing wounds with the one demon he expected that to happen with the least.
To butcher a saying, 'you can pick your friends, but you can't pick your soulmate'. How would he ever have expected Alastor to be the one? Neither of them can ignore the proof of multiple shared wounds thanks to Vox's stupid death ray machine, even though they'd probably both like nothing more.

Alastor often finds himself enjoying solitary time late at night with some lovely jazz playing over the radio, not a soul around to interrupt him except of course Lucifer. Having grown quite fond of the king by that point, Alastor is even inclined to show Lucifer a little more of his musical proclivities with a bit of dancing.

Lucifer wished his magic could turn back time. Could take the words 'Come on down to bed, Al,' out of everyone’s minds and pull the sound back through the radio waves into his big, stupid mouth."
Or, all of Hell heard Lucifer call Alastor down to bed. What's a devil to do to fix his mistake? Well, apparently...whatever this is. (Alastor vetoed Plan A.)

Lucifer blinked dumbly at him. “What?”
