Summary
Shane has always lived inside himself.

But he knew he could do better. He wasn’t pushing himself enough. Hell, he was more drained after a summer with Ilya than he was when he left the rink.
That wasn’t good enough. His efforts weren’t good enough. He wasn’t good enough.
