The Being finally blinks as if just remembering how, eyes piercing into Grian’s soul from the other side of the room.
Is this fine? To lie to Something like It?
It’s hardly a lie, Grian thinks, hands still feeling the weight of black blood running between his fingers as he tightened the last of the gauze around a stranger’s shoulder. Merely a thin veil in front of the real truth.
Another blink. Another eternity of fear seeping into Grian’s body.
A warm smile splits across Its face and the tension bleeds only partly. “Well why didn’t you say so?"
⟢ On the outskirts of a war, Grian shoots something not quite man. Against his better judgment he takes It home.

Summary
The sensation of deja vu stuck to Grian like glue. He didn't even want to know what it meant, the visceral reaction to seeing Scar was enough. He'd never met someone that got his heart beating double time before the man had so much as opened his mouth.
It was weird to experience heart-break at first sight.

The insurmountable sound of the roof caving in, the support beams failing, and the marble decorations shattering around him seemed to stop all at once. There was nothing but silence. Cold, abrupt, threatening silence.
As quickly as it had begun, the disaster simply ceased.
“Woah,” an unknown voice chimed, echoing through the rubble. A man smiled down at him, his expression bordering somewhere between surprised and amused. “You’ve caused quite a bit of chaos here, haven’t you?”
