Summary

When a chance accident leads to her family taking in the beautiful, vivacious, but mysterious young woman Lucia, she gains hope that she might at last have found a real friend in her new world - but not all seems to be right with her. Strange recurring dreams, sudden illness, and a foreboding sense of disaster beset Amity, and though she tries to deny it, something about her new companion seems almost unearthly. Perhaps the look in her eyes that sometimes, for a half-imagined instant, might have been almost...hungry.
