Summary
Proud Immortal Demon's Way was not a book with morals, but if it had been, they might have went something along the lines of this: Revenge will only leave you empty and unsatisfied. Just ask Luo Binghe, or Qiu Haitang- everything they did to Shen Qingqiu left them hollow, unfulfilled, thirsting for more and unable to ever get it. Even Liu Mingyan, who only wanted him dead for justice's sake, has not stopped grieving her brother. Justice is an empty thing. Nothing has been set right by Shen Qingqiu's death. No one is happier for it.
(No one asks Ning Yingying what she thinks about her revenge, or if she was satisfied by it, because no one has realized that she wanted revenge at all to begin with. But maybe that's for the better- she'd probably rate vengeance too high to fit in with that moral.)

Ning Yingying grinds her foot into Liu Mingyan's stomach. "Luo Binghe thought about castrating Shizun. Taking a sword and cutting out his manhood. He never did it- I guess even he got squeamish sometimes. But don't you think you deserve to sit with the same uncertainty? Will I cut you open up into your womb? Won't I? Think about it."
Liu Mingyan holds back a groan. She wants that. It's only fair, after all. It's just fairness if Ning Yingying sticks her hand into her, splits her open, breaks her apart, ruins her in every way and then leaves her to bleed out, except- Ning Yingying doesn't want that. She'll do it, but she doesn't want it.

(The problem here is that Ning Yingying loves easily, but not completely.)

It is enough to drag her closer, into Ning Yingying orbit, into Ning Yingying's arms, and into Ning Yingying's life, until Liu Mingyan has selfishly decided that she deserves to be there, and so it's only natural that she is there.
(By the time Liu Mingyan realizes that she wants Ning Yingying, it's already too late.)

Sakumo is selfless enough to bear the burden of a village's guilt, but selfish enough to demand recompense in death for doing so. Danzo is selfless enough to sit by and watch. They are, of course, in love, but that doesn't change anything about the way the story goes, and if you asked either of them about it, they would deny it entirely.
Let me be clear: the tragedy here is that the cause they are giving everything for is terrible. All they ever do is feed their blood into the machine that kills children, that nearly killed them. They will not ever be stopping.
