Daniel can tell right away that something is deeply, unsettlingly wrong. And that’s when he realizes that Armand hasn’t moved his legs once in Daniel’s sight, which has been trained on him nearly the entire time. How long had it taken Louis to recover from his spinal injury?
“He had a lot more going on,” Armand wheezes. “But, to answer your question without consulting your abysmal recordings? Months.”
“Uh, they’re not so easily consulted at the moment,” Daniel says, trying to maintain his balance. It’s going to be a fucking miracle if he can get himself back on his feet, let alone haul a temporarily paralyzed Armand along with him. “I’m gonna let the head thing slide for the time being.”
“The head thing?”
“You. In mine.”
“How generous.”
“The way I see it,” Daniel says, “I’m your only ticket out of here if you’re in as bad a shape as I think you are. Tell me I’m wrong.”

“Finish it,” Armand says abruptly, reaching out to touch the bottom of the glass. He tilts it up to Daniel’s lips, the words an imperious command.
Daniel barely opens his mouth in time. He chokes on what’s left of the watery crème de menthe and crème de cacao, but Armand doesn’t lower the glass until he’s finished every last drop. His head swims, partly because he’s tipsy and partly because of the brain freeze.
Armand withdraws the empty glass, sets it aside, and grabs a napkin off the bar. He dabs Daniel’s lips with it, brushing the bare pad of his thumb across Daniel’s chin. His skin is warm and smooth, slightly clammy with condensation borrowed from the glass.
Oh my God, Daniel thinks. Don’t lick him don’t lick him don’t lick—
Clearing his throat, Armand sets the napkin aside. “You’re a journalist?”
“Yeah,” Daniel replies hastily, looking away. “You were listening in?”
“I caught part of your chat with Louis. You were going to interview him?”
“Was being the operative word. I’m not sure that would’ve worked out.”

“If we’re quiet…” Louis began after catching Lestat alone with a gentle hand at his elbow, the sound of Claudia causing a ruckus as she prepared for bed upstairs above them.
The answering heat in Lestat’s gaze killed the follow-up before Louis could give it voice.
“As the grave.”
or: during episode four, Lestat and Louis experience a dry spell as a result of Claudia sleeping in their room, and then they don't.

“I like Siri,” Lestat tells him, with a tone of grave importance.
“Yeah,” Louis replies, finding himself smiling again. “I know you do.”
Or: In the aftermath of the reunion, Louis takes Lestat back to his hotel.

Summary
After 37 years, Daniel was back in his arms. Where he should be. Where he still fit perfectly. Warm, alive, content in his dreaming.
Armand was content, too, inasmuch as that was a state of being he was still capable of inhabiting. He felt less empty than he had in years and that, perhaps, was more than he’d had any right to hope for.
In which Armand holds Daniel while he sleeps, and thinks about both his loves.

Daniel was lying on his back in his bed in the Dubai penthouse and he was spiraling.
When he’d first realized he might be missing more vampire-related memories than just the night of that first interview, he’d been thinking along the lines of, you know, a couple of days. A week at most.
He hadn’t expected…this. Over a decade of bizarre cat-and-mouse, master-and-servant fucked up gothic romance with a goddamn vampire.
With Armand.
In which Daniel remembers and handles it extremely well, thank you very much.

Lucanis chokes on his coffee, drawing everyone’s attention as he spits it out and spills the drink on himself. His violent coughs mix with Spite’s laughter, echoing in his head and drowning out his company asking him if he’s alright.
