Summary
Sirius purses his lips, and Remus involuntarily registers that there is something oddly enticing about the twist of his pretty mouth, like the lines of it are dark and strange, suggestive. He shakes the odd thought away.
“Listen, Remus. You, uhm. You can tell me to fuck right off if you don’t like me, and I promise, I won’t hold it against you, honest. But really, mate...” and here he bites that dark, strange, and suggestive bottom lip, and rushes out, “I’ve been at it for two weeks with this class and I’m struggling because it turns out I don’t give a fuck about plants and I can’t remember a damn thing from the lectures, so if you could find it in your heart to help me out, that’d be mint.”
A surprised chortle bursts out of Remus’ lungs, sounding oddly hoarse, and he thinks to himself: Huh. It’s been a while since the last time I laughed.
The third time Remus Lupin runs into Sirius Black is the time they finally become friends.

Remus’ mouth falls open as he breathes in. This one has killed.
OR: Sirius wants to kiss Remus. Remus wants to eat Sirius. Sirius thinks this is metaphorical. It is not.

“I’m so, so sorry,” the man continued, wiping a bead of sweat from the side of his temple with the sleeve of his faded Blondie t-shirt. He wore ripped black jeans and black and white Chuck Taylors and had his own messy curls, just like the baby. “I had no idea Teddy would be such a handsy little fucker at these story times, but he’s always grabbing… fuck, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t say fuck in the children’s room. Shit, I did it again, I’m so sorry, I don’t know what the fuck is wrong with me.”

After James and Lily died, Sirius Black's therapist told him not to date for a year. And that's just as well. He's got a 13-month-old baby now and quite enough to deal with, thanks. But the nosy neighbors in his building keep trying to set him up and won't take no for an answer. Enter Remus Lupin, another single dad who pretends to be Sirius's boyfriend, just to get the old lady brigade off his back and nothing more. Nothing more at all.
