His heart felt like it was going to explode as he held it in pain.
He thinks he’s begging. He has to be. He can feel his lips moving, but his ears are muted to the sound of his babbling. All he is — all that he can hear — is the voice of God in his ear.
“I could make you a god,” it continues, either unaware or uncaring of his distress as he watched, horrified, as tendrils of prismatic light drifted from its swirling iris. Nebulas gutted themselves before him and bled into his world so that they could curl around him.

The hunters manage to snatch Remmick away during their chase. The logical next step follows.

“Neither are you.”
The ground beneath them groaned.

“You still gonna kill me,” Quaritch asked from the darkness, “or can we focus on the issue at hand?”
Jake tightened his grip on the knife. “Talk. Tell me what you can assess.”
A pause. Then, grudgingly: “Fell maybe forty feet. Can’t see the opening. Air’s not great. Chemical.”
Another sound rolled through the cave, stone shifting, settling.
Jake cursed under his breath. “Truce. Until we get out.”
“And then?”
“Then we finish what we started.”
“Fair enough.”

Jake Sully’s hunt for Quaritch ends when both men are dragged underground by a collapsing forest, trapped deep beneath Pandora in a cave system that does not forgive mistakes. Injured, hunted, and running out of air, they’re forced into a fragile truce built on necessity rather than trust.

She knew it in the way she was drawn to fire, its flickering flames calling to her, pulling her closer even as it threatened to burn her. She knew it in the way it consumed her waking thoughts and haunted her restless sleep, ever since it had first claimed her that fateful day, leaving an indelible, scorching mark on her.
She knew it in the hollows of her palms, still humming with the memory of heat, and in the nightmares that left her trembling not from fear, but from the cruel ache of craving what had already devoured her.
Varang traced the delicate, unfamiliar lines of Neytiri's features, features usually distorted in fierce fury directed solely at her, but now slack and peaceful in repose. And she knew obsession in the way she controlled the uncontrollable, bending the wild, untamed force to her will, wielding it as no other of her people had ever dared to. As even the sky people, who believed they had mastered its power, couldn't.
But this woman, this Neytiri, had ignited a different kind of flame within her, an obsession equally consuming and dangerous.

See, he's a man of strong ethics. Built on rational, and a walking case of what you'd call, pure, hard leathered militarism—logic first, emotions second.
He hadn't survived this long believing in any of that... native shit. Koomba in the forest, whatever Jake Sully prattled on about.
He'd survived because he damn well chose to. Because even the other "Miles" had known, one day, he might be outmatched. But not defeated.
Even lost in the depths of the forest, shaking and shivering, hoping she won't notice, he still holds onto that, however weakly. He made it out alive. Barely. And lo' and behold, no Eywa came from him.
It was her, and damn, was he glad to see that pretty face.

“Midoriya, you were reported missing a week ago. No one has seen you for eight days. The police have been combing the city for you.”

Midoriya Izuku went missing for a week and turned up in a back alleyway with skills he's never even heard of and no memory of how he came by them. He resigns himself to never learning the truth of what happened to him, but he shouldn't waste this chance should he? He could become a hero with reflexes like these.
