My eyes peeled from his and searched for words on a page within a novel I had forgotten was settled in my grasp. I shifted my weight, further from Demian’s prodding gaze. These questions tormented me with every passing moment. It had become clear I was quite stricken. My mind shifted through these musings with great difficulty in holding them, even for a moment.

There is a pause… a stinging silence, the fingers in his hair become painful, applying pressure as his head is wrenched upwards, so he's staring into the eyes of a predator, dark, deadly and enamouring. Neither smoky grey or inky black.
Fear itches across his body as Sasuke withdraws a hand and hits him.Set sometime after the start of shippuden, Sasuke is forced against his will to return to Kohona and is placed under house arrest. Naruto is assigned as his would-be-jailor. They attempt to navigate what remains of their fractured relationship - as their adventure escalates, the situation around them reaches a climax in which the ultimate sacrifice must be made in order to rectify Sasuke’s mistake. A mistake which has world altering consequences.

They inflict him with a strange jutsu that sends him into the body another version of his self that lives in an alternate reality where ninjas never existed, and technology seems to rule the world. If only to make things worse, this other version of himself is in some sort of romantic relationship with Naruto!
Meanwhile in Konoha, the Alternate-Reality-Sasuke's consciousness is placed into the Shinobi-Sasuke's body. If being thrown into a world full of "magic" and danger weren't enough, he's also got to deal with being married to a woman with a child! And Naruto, who doesn't seem to return any of his feelings.
The two Sasukes embark on a journey to return to their real bodies. The Shinobi-Sasuke, who has been stripped of all his power, and the Alternate-Reality-Sasuke who's terrified of this world he's been thrown into and only wants to go home to be with his Naruto.
