“Caspian the Seafarer?” Tirian asked in response to Eustace's request, campfire lighting his face in a way perfect for storytelling. “Of course I know of him, though that's not a title I've seen as often.”

Summary
“You should leave,” Peter says, at least the fifth time this evening. “It’s not safe.”
“I am not leaving,” Caspian answers, definitely for the fifth time this evening, this time not bothering to justify his response. Once Peter has decided something, it’s near impossible to convince him otherwise. They are similar, in this account.

Summary
Caspian does not know when he first came about the knowledge—it’s something that’s simply been fact for so long that he cannot remember a time without it. What he can remember, is this:
The scar on his chin that has always been there, the ones on his arms and legs that stretch and warp as he grows. Complaining of a continuous ache in his knuckles, feeling cuts and bruises that were never there. His mother, fussing to make sure his arms are covered entirely by his shirt. Fascination, from a court physician, sworn to secrecy: I have not seen such a curse manifest in this way before. A bruising ache around one eye that lasts throughout his childhood.
He is a frail prince, even a weak one, who would rather listen to stories about the stars than practice duelling with smarting fists that always feel that they’re nursing the aftermath of a fight. He hears the whispers, and they weigh on his shoulders, but he does not complain: after all, it’s much better to be a frail prince than a cursed one.

Summary
You are crowned in a grassy field just north of the river Beruna, wide and open to make way for the centaurs, trees, naiads, and other creatures not so fond of the idea of “indoors”. You have no stone podium yet, no throne to sit upon unmarred by the seat of traitors and the blood of what have become your people, only a grassy knoll speckled with bright wildflowers.

Summary
“In another life where I didn’t have a Pete, if I wrote a song – ‘cuz I – 'Saturday,' I wrote most of that – I did write most of that by myself, right? So there’s a world where that song exists without the band. There’s no world where I sing it in front of people without Pete.”

Summary
They’ve been watching each other the whole show, Patrick sly beneath the brim of his hat and Pete not even bothering to hide it, just turning his face to gaze at him full-out, eyes limpid, instinctual like a plant to the sun. The air tastes like electricity, like the frisson of energy before a thunderstorm, and Pete feels like a photocopy of himself: poised here on the cusp of something that twenty years ago filled him with as much aching want as it does now.

Summary
“But he never-” Pete stops, trailing off into the empty possibility, the thousand different ways that sentence could end. Patrick never said anything, he never seemed to mind, Pete could never really tell if he noticed or not and would have pulled his still-beating heart out of his own chest and offered it up on a platter if he ever thought it would make any difference, but it never seemed like it would, so he let the words sneak into songs and hang in the open air for 20-something years, and thought they’d dissipated by now.
“Yeah,” Joe says softly. “I really - thought maybe you guys talked about it or something, but then I realized you didn’t, and I just kind of - I don’t think it’s gonna be the end of the world, you know?"
What if Pete spent the last 20-something years really truly head over heels in love with Patrick, and Patrick was so genuinely oblivious he had no idea? Then - what if he found out? An exploration of not actually unrequited love that just spends a really long time seeming unrequited, because Patrick needs some time to wrap his head around it, basically.
