“Didn’t you save Tommy’s life once?” Eddie asks, narrowing his eyes at Chim. “Back when he worked at the 118?”
Chim gives Hen a look that Eddie can’t read.
“I did,” Chim responds eventually. “We were on a call, and there was a building with a gas leak. He’d passed out inside and I ran in to save him. I carried him out just as the building blew up.”
Eddie considers it for a moment. “Why?”
Chim stares at Eddie, a shocked look on his face.
“Eddie!” Hen lightly smacks Eddie’s arm. “You’re a mean drunk.”
“That’s also what we call an inside thought,” Chim adds, now looking vaguely amused.
Eddie shrugs unapologetically. “Well it’s out there now.”
