In the video, the girl asked that to her boyfriend, who first replied with confusion before vowing eternal love to his girlfriend. Aiden found the video very boring; being in love is stupid, and that boy was stupid, and that girl too. Still, the weirdness of the question amused him, and his most favourite person to annoy was right here with him—so why not give it a go?

“Make no mistake however, I could care less about what you all think of me.” His glare returned, yet his attempt at intimidation faltered. “It’s simply in my best interest to be careful.” The last part was much quieter, it was easily missable– drowned in the flickering lights and the light static of the air conditioner.
Yet Makoto still caught it. “Then, why did you do it?” Makoto said, voice cracking slightly. He took in a shaky breath, chest lighting up with fire. “Would it not have been in your best interest to not do anything at all? By doing something like that in front of everyone, letting a serial killer on the loose, would you not have just increased the chance of your own death?”
