Dylan takes hold of the hem of the hoodie with the clear intention of pulling it off over Ryan’s head and Ryan immediately grabs his hands to stop him.
“Uh-uh, the hoodie stays on,” Ryan informs him, matter-of-factly.
“What?! Why?”
It’s a little chilly in their apartment but that’s never kept Ryan from getting naked before. He’s not even entirely sure why, himself—it’s not like he needs the comforting reminder of Dylan with Dylan actually here now—but he’s gotten weirdly attached to this hoodie in the past few hours. He wants to stay wrapped in the expanse of soft fabric for a while longer. It feels like a safe little cocoon.
“Because,” he answers, “I’m comfortable!”
“Mm, fair enough,” Dylan says, “just wasn’t planning on going spelunking this evening. I don’t even know where my headlamp is.”

Dylan's been away at an academic conference for four days and Ryan is a little surprised by just how lonely and pent-up he gets in his absence. When Dylan's flight home keeps getting delayed, Ryan turns to wearing one of his oversized hooded sweatshirts for comfort—until Dylan gets back to comfort him properly.
