Contrary to popular belief, Floyd himself gets just as frustrated with his own mood swings as others do having to experiencing them (most of the time.)
When something stops being fun, it’s because something in him just sort of ‘clicks’ off, and suddenly whatever had his attention isn’t nearly as exciting as it was a millisecond ago - which means that he has to sulk in a poor mood until he can find something new.
Being in a bad mood out of his control is quite possibly one of the worst things he can think of. Trying to find something new to satiate his hunger for excitement is about as difficult as finding a coin in a coral bed - and it’s all the more frustrating when he can’t get that ‘click’ back again for a while.

Mismatched eyes traced the outline of pale skin, his left hand clenched tightly around Riddles' wrist.
Guiding the limb slowly up towards his mouth as his warm breath swept over the pale skin. Floyds' lips pressed gently to the inside of his wrist, the ghost of pointed teeth grazing the skin there. Riddles' breath hitched in response to his advances, that beautiful red flush Floyd loved filling out his cheeks.
"Floyd... talk to me" Riddle breathed into the quiet, night air.
Floyds' eyes lingered on the pools of grey that scoured his expression for any hint at what he was thinking. His goldfishie was persistent, but he couldn't risk putting him in any danger.

Floyd really isn’t looking forward spending a few days with that stupid anti-magic collar around his neck, though. He doesn’t want to ask Jade or Azul to intervene in his favor either. “Off with your-”
So, before Riddle can finish his recitation, Floyd leans in and cuts him off with a kiss.
Heh. He tastes as sweet as he thought. Like cherry pie.

That took a surprising turn. Jade expected anything but the mention of their parents.
“Oya, that is a rather strange turn of events,” added Jade impatiently. While he tried to keep up his calm appearance, he could barely wait for Floyd’s answer – what kind of lie had made him look so guilty, miserable even? “Be more specific, I don’t bite!”
Floyd frowned.
“Yes, ya do, liar!” he pouted, even though he was clearly not in the right position to throw those words at Jade right now. He seemed to realise his mistake and cleared his throat loudly, obviously trying to move on.
“Them always talkin’ about ya being lonely was real annoyin’, honestly. I told Mama ya got a partner or whatever, so they’d leave us alone and stop worryin’.”Jade needed a date. Floyd told their family he already had one.
He asked Trey for a simple favour - a date to survive one family dinner. What he got was someone who laughed at his jokes, met his family without flinching, and looked at him like he was worth trusting.
