Hastur is furious. His adopted daughter is afraid. John wants to kill his other half; and Arthur has a lot of healing to do in rebuilt Carcosa, in the mystical Dreamlands.

Arthur felt that nigh-imperceptible presence shift in the back of his mind as if from a fugue state.

Relief flooded Arthur’s body of its own volition. “Good.” However, when he reached for John’s hand, he quickly flinched away.
“What the hell is the matter with you?”
Nothing’s the matter. I just—
