He had a smile plastered on his face as he introduced himself. "I'm Lower Moon Six!" He chirped, giving Akaza a mock salute before extending that hand out as if waiting for him to shake on it. "You can call me Douma!"
Akaza gripped the offending hand and ripped it off Douma, before tossing it away. The arm quickly disappeared from view, and he and Douma both watched it go in awkward silence. Douma grinned at him again. "Nice grip." He says.

At least knowing that death meant the annihilation of the self wouldn’t make them choose kneeling in prayer over trying to do something, do anything to save themselves. Perhaps nothing could be done, but to simply beg the empty heavens for deliverance guaranteed that nothing ever would!
It was always the same. No matter who, no matter where, no matter when, it always went like this.
And so Douma always applied the same solution."

Muzan-sama told him he would almost certainly die, for Douma lacked the drive, that endless craving of want and desire that pushed humans to live even through the worst pain.
Douma respected his master, then and now, but the king of demons hadn't quite seen the young cult leader for all that he was; for all that he did want.
Douma wanted to feel something, anything, even if it was just for a fleeting moment.
So he chased the pain of his transformation, chased it in circles like a dog biting at its own tail until it finally slipped through his fingers like grains of sand.
In the end, he had lived. No worse for wear and no less empty than when he'd been human.
That hollowness ended up being his greatest strength.
His stomach, much like his heart, was a bottomless pit, home to a darkness so terrible that not even the light of the sun could penetrate its depths.

Inosuke, being a mere two years old and incapable of saying more than 'Douma', 'milk' and 'dada', just stared as he continued his tirade. Giggling as he watched the demon grind the pretty necklace into fine dust, before lifting his palm to smear it into the pile of broken prayers and disrespect.
"Ah-ah-ah, Inosuke"- Douma grinned, not bothering to contain his bark of laughter at the toddler's angry pout - "Wouldn't want to get filthy, would we, my little flower?"
Inosuke could only stick his tongue out in response.

Douma lived his life thinking he was incapable of having emotions. Yet what if instead of being unable to feel emotions, they were simply suppressed due to his traumatic lifestyle? What if something, or someone, could allow these emotions to come to light?
