Summary
We saw in 3B-19 how Magnus suffered as a result of Alec leaving, but we did not get to see how the breakup impacted Alec. This is my take on that.

Summary

Whatever worries or reservations that may have still lurked in the darkness of Magnus’s mind vanished completely in this moment. He could almost literally hear his self-control ripping in two.
My version of what should have happened following the last Malec scene of 207 and reworking of events in all the episodes up to the finale. Lots of sex and angst because that's what I live for, basically the story of Malec's epic love of course.

Summary
Alec raised the beer to his lips, the bottle hovering in place for a moment. He didn’t want to share a drink with Magnus, or make small talk about demons and their victory like the crowd that surrounded them, acting as though they were nothing more than allies. Alec took a deep breath and realised this was his moment, his chance, possibly his last, to fix what was broken between them. Eyes still fixed on Magnus Alec slowly lowered his bottle, hands moving behind his back to steady himself.
‘Can we talk?’ was all he said.

Alec was so tired. He had lost count of how many times he had extended his hand backwards, to grab an arrow from his quiver. He had lost count of how many alleys he had searched, desperate to save any possible bystander from being killed. What he did know however, was the number of Mundanes he had saved. Fifteen innocent people he had pushed out of harm's way, four of which, he had shielded with his very own body. So, Alec was so tired. No, scratch that. He was exhausted. The Institute was closer to where he was. But Magnus' loft was where he wanted to be.
So, there he went, allowing Magnus to do what he does best. Take care of him.Series

Christmas is his favorite time of the year but Alec has barely had time to buy presents let alone enjoy the holiday season. December seems to have lasted the blink of an eye and Alec's shoulders hunch as he realizes morosely that most of this year is a blur of emergencies and rounds and consultations.
His gaze snags on a bakery display as he walks past. The window is dressed with multicolored lights and garland wrapping around the edges. The display case is full and Alec’s mouth waters just at the sight.
Without conscious thought, Alec is reaching for the door to Bane's Bakery, eager to see if the interior is just as whimsical and welcoming as the outside.

“Mostly. But never like this.” Magnus’ voice was the direct opposite of his.It was low and deep and steady and made Alec want to groan out loud. It was so god damn husky.
“Turn around.” Magnus said and Alec closed his eyes for a few seconds before attempting to face him without moaning.He managed to make it, even though his legs felt like jelly and saw him ease off where he had been leaning against the back of the door.

What did Alec mean when he said they "didn't do much sleeping?" This is my imagining of what took place between 1.06 and the flashback in 2.18, from Magnus' POV.
From chapter ten:
Alec had attempted to describe his panic attacks before, but he struggled with what to say. The kind he was currently experiencing was the worst type of all. He felt like he was actually drowning in place, unable to inhale any satiating breaths, gulping at the air like a fish out of water. He was immobilized, once he finally settled down, his limbs feeling chained together and his body numb. The worst facets of this type were the darkness, isolation, and trapped sensations. He likened those to being caught under the ice of a lake at night, confined to an invisible cage only large enough for his arms to move up and down. The world outside was dark and deafening, any lights or sounds reaching him through a filter of thickened ice and deep water. The only thing his mind could comprehend was pure doom, the feeling of the certainty of oncoming death. He knew he wasn't going to die, but his brain sure made it feel like it.Series
