Summary
It started, as so many things do, with a tweet.
“Hey, Hollzy! Look at this! It’s so you and Roz,” Evan Dykstra said, shoving his phone in Shane’s face. Shane squinted at the slightly blurry screen, willing his eyes to focus on the small font. He never brought his glasses to practice (much to Ilya’s chagrin), but he also never anticipated reading whatever stupid meme the Centaurs decided was vital for his desolate knowledge of pop culture.
Me and the bad bitch I pulled by being autistic, it read, followed by a photo pulled from Centaurs socials of Ilya and Shane smiling at each other like idiots at a team event.
Shane read it a second time, then looked up at Dykstra, who looked incredibly proud of himself. Clearly, Ilya was supposed to be the ‘bad bitch,’ because no one had ever put those two words in the same sentence as Shane Hollander.
“Funny, D,” Shane began, “but I’m not autistic.”

Shane Hollander realizes he might be autistic. He is the last person to do so. -

There’s something like grief sitting heavy in her chest, the realization that she had missed every moment of her son falling in love, still can’t understand the how of it all.

It doesn’t occur to him until he’s sitting in his moms guest bathroom, with a CNN makeup artist putting just enough concealer on his face to not completely hide his bruising (because it plays well, of course, if people can see he’s injured while doing this vulnerable thing), that he hasn’t fucking let Ilya know he's about to come out on national television.
Well, fuck, Shane thinks, staring at his own blinking reflection in the mirror blankly.

Summary
A few days before Shane’s seventeenth birthday, he told his parents he’d broken up with Elise. “It just didn’t work out,” Shane said, not really looking at either of them; instead, he was staring at the TV, obviously not really watching the hockey game he’d put on. There was a faint rosy tint to his cheeks.

“Did I do something wrong?” Mike questions, mouth twisted in a frown, eyes less wide than they were a few moments ago, sleepiness gone. His arms stay at his sides, although his fingers fiddle with his sleeves. “What did I do wrong?”
Will frowns back. “You didn’t do anything wrong.”
Mike doesn’t look like he believes him. Will doesn’t blame him. “Then why do you keep leaving?”
The world ends, and then some. Mike and Will find each other again, amidst the debris and distance.

Summary
Spending the summer in Hawkins had been wonderful - they’d moved back in the middle of June, integrating into their new home and re-familiarizing themselves with the town. Their friends had, of course, welcomed them with open arms, and the rest of the summer had been spent like it always had - hanging out around town, taking over Steve’s pool and abusing his summer job at the video store, sleepovers in Mike’s basement and afternoons at the arcade.
It had been wonderful, yet also overwhelming.
One thing he hadn’t missed in California, was the agony of being close to Mike.
The kicker of that, of course, is that there had been the agony of being away from Mike.
Will’s conclusion is that he’s just meant to suffer.
Are they ready to be swept off their feet?

“Three weeks,” Derek says.
“Still don’t want to,” Stiles says.
“I’ll pay you,” Derek says, and that… that has Stiles interested. Alf’s Antique’s may be a great job, but it’s not a high-paying job, and half of Stiles’s tuition is coming from financial aid, so…
“How much,” Stiles asks, “are we talking here? Because I know your family, dude. And it’ll be kind of awkward after.“
“My family thinks you’re some sort of fucking gift to the world,” Derek seethes, like he’s jealous, “they’ll probably be pissed at me when we break it off, so don’t worry about that. Five hundred bucks.”
“A thousand,” Stiles says, because screw ethics. Also, the Hale family is loaded. Derek can deal.

Summary
On Christmas Eve, 1988, Mrs. Novak's car stalled on an intersection and was hit by a truck. Her son, Castiel, was nine years old when he woke up the next day and realised that he wasn't going to have a Christmas anymore. Luckily for him, however, Mary Winchester across the road invited him over to have Christmas with them that year - and every year after. Traditions were formed, friendships were built, and Christmas would always be a time for love, even if life sometimes happened along the way.

Summary
If Dean’s life were a movie, it would be one of those cheap, bait-and-switch movies. The ones that look like they are of this one genre, but when you get around to watch it, it turns out to be something completely different.
Dean’s life right now would totally look like a romantic comedy.
(In which Dean Winchester’s life is neither a weekly TV show nor a movie, except when it is.)

Summary
They're not supposed to talk about what happened, not supposed to be thinking about it, not supposed to acknowledge it. They're supposed to act like it never happened.
That's proving to be very difficult for Dean.
There are wants scratching against his skin, begging to be let out. Releasing them once wasn't his fault, but it's a bitch of a problem to handle.
How's he supposed to forget the feeling of Cas writhing in his arms, panting in his ear, staring at him with such reverence and need? Dean can't; it's like the memories lay in the center of his brain, latched onto every other part, pushing its into every fucking thought he has. It's just…there.

At the bottom of the grocery list, different from either Sam’s neat block print or Dean’s own messy scrawl, was just a few words of script.
Peanut butter, please. Thank you.
And then, squeezed in smaller script underneath so as to fit into the corner margin:
Love, Castiel

Summary
“We should fuck,” Dean says.
Cas looks up from where he sits on his bed, hair still damp from the shower, frowning as he places a finger on the page of his book to mark where he left off.
There are a million things Cas could say here; Dean has rehearsed them. After lunch, his restlessness had given way to a vague panic, a dread that matched his every step and crept along with him from room to room. Eventually, he had returned to his bedroom and spent the rest of the afternoon pacing back and forth, playing out all the possible scenarios. When Cas asks him Why? or Are you being serious? or when he sighs and says, in that way he has, Dean, he knows exactly what he’s going to do. He’s going to shrug casually, like he isn’t invested in the answer, like he isn’t desperate for an outlet, and say, Why not? He’s going to raise an eyebrow and say, What, are you not interested? He’s going to crowd into Cas’ personal space, he’s going to shove himself right up in there and whisper Cas against his ear.
Instead, Cas says, carefully, “Okay.”
