He adjusted his cuff links out of habit as she approached and sighed down at his shirt, upset that yet another shirt had been ruined.
“Was I far enough away?” Chloe asked.
“Hmm?” he replied, looking up at her from his shirt, confused.
“Did they…uhm, hurt at all?” she asked further, gesturing to his shirt, “was I far enough away?”
“Oh,” he responded. It was only then that the slight sting of his knee registered. “Seems like you were. Some damaged Armani seems to be the main cause for concern,” he quipped, but it seemed to lack whatever usual spark he put into it.
“Oh, ok. Good,” she breathed, nodding.A canon-compliant "deleted scene" style one-shot that takes place in Season 4 Episode 7: Devil is as Devil Does. Picks up when Trixie visits Lucifer and Eve in the Penthouse and follows the immediate aftermath, including a tender moment or two between Chloe and Lucifer as they continue to work on navigating their healing relationship. Follows through into their conversation on the balcony afterwards.

It was then that she realized the other thing she heard in Lucifer’s voice.
Fear.
Not anxious, or uneasy, or even a little scared, like how Trixie sometimes got when she knew she was in trouble.
No.
There was pure unadulterated fear in his voice. He was terrified of his Father.
She could not imagine the kinds of things she would have to do for Trixie to look at her like that.
And for that, she was furious.Chloe blinks and Lucifer's gone from the Evidence room. She heads back out to the precinct floor to find 3 angels and a stranger is some kind of weird celestial stand-off. When Chloe finds out who the stranger is... well let's just say she isn't too happy, and it may or may not result in her trying to punch the Creator of the Universe in the face.

Ilya knows that, between him and Shane, he's the more affectionate of the two. He's not sure if it's because he's from Europe, where everyone greets each other with a hug and a kiss on the cheek, or if it's because he grew up so starved for love and affection that he can't do anything except show Shane how much he loves him at any chance that he has.
So, yes, he knows that he's the one most likely to kiss Shane on the cheek when he skates by him at practice or come up behind Shane when he's cooking dinner just to wrap his arms around him or fall on top of Shane while he's reading on the couch, desperate to have his skin touching Shane's.
But, Shane… Shane loves Ilya differently. It's quieter. More intentional.
