Tonight, Mark is supposed to be enjoying the carnival with Renjun and making fun of his sweet romance with the town mechanic, not feeling fate tug at the strings within his heart and make him question why he’s refused to fall in love in the first place.
The boy reminds Mark of where the land meets the sea. Sandy brown hair and skin were sun-kissed and golden. His large amber eyes are like liquid gold and Mark can’t help but take in all of the light they reflect. Not even the bright yellow and red lights can compare to this boy’s beauty. And up close, Mark can see that the stars couldn’t help but fall in love with him too. On his face, Ursa Minor danced and decided to take its place there, almost as if an artist had taken their time to make this boy perfect.

After years of being a good son to his alcoholic father and drug-addicted mother, Mark finally accepted Johnny's offer to have fun on a summer night at a high school friend's party. His plan was to dance a little bit and (try to) forget about his shitty life.
Dumping a bottle of white pills into his mouth and passing out on the toilet's floor, only to meet a certain pink and purple-haired boy was definitely not part of the plan.

When Donghyuck gets diagnosed with a terminal illness, he figures the only way to enjoy the rest of his life is to let go of all of the baggage he has been carrying. So he writes letters to everyone he has grievances with: his bitter, hateful lifelong enemy, his lying, selfish ex-best friend, and his ungrateful, unloving ex-boyfriend.
Donghyuck has to navigate the aftermath of his letters on top of another bomb being dropped on him: he’s been misdiagnosed.

although, it did kind of bother him a bit that mark is apparently really smart that he receives a one-year scholarship for law school in toronto.
but all this bothering and worrying goes away whenever he hears mark say "i miss you" through his phone screen.
