INTERVIEWER
Alright. Let’s start this off with something simple, just to get it on the record. What’s your name?GOODIE
I’m Goodie. Goodie McSriff, technically, but everyone knows me as Goodie from Bloodpool, or just Goodie Bloodpool. (She pauses.) Which is legally my name now, which I’m sure makes searching me specifically on the internet really fun. Sorry about that, everyone.INTERVIEWER
And is there anything people might recognize you from?GOODIE
I was the only survivor of the Bloodpool murders. Because I killed the serial killer with a blaseball bat. And then it turned out he wasn’t dead, and I had to kill him again after he broke into my apartment to get revenge six months later, and then I was really the only survivor of the Bloodpool murders. -

At least she herself was able to say that’s not me, that’s my name, that’s not me, I want to be something else. She doesn’t think Jessica has said that, or maybe even thought it to herself; who wouldn’t want to be Jessica Telephone? From the outside, wouldn’t it be a gift, to live a life so rich?
(Wouldn’t it be a gift, to be a splinter of a god who saw everything but never saw it coming? It always looks better from the outside.)
Jessica
Telephoneisn’t the only girl here who might as well be someone else’s ghost: or, what that looks like from another camera angle: or, hey, who decides what the real Ship of Theseus is, anyway?Series

Bookmarker's Notes
Konoha looks different from what he remembers once he gets into the city proper, everything too tall to his too-short body because this is likely years before he hit his growth spurt, the streets bustling with civilians. The last he was in Konoha, it was a smoldering wreckage, the Academy still on fire. This Konoha is bustling and energetic and happy, long enough, he supposes, after the Kyuubi attack that the damage has been repaired.
He’s walking down a main road when he sees Neji, when they make eye contact and Neji gives the barest nod, and Shikamaru thinks, thank god, that worked. He’s not alone.

Bookmarker's Notes
He will adapt. He will learn. He is a survivor, in the end, against his better instincts, broken glass and blackened soul and all. It will take more than being maimed to change that about him – he still has a mission to complete, after all.
“I think,” he says, into the silence, getting to his feet confident and steady for the first time in a week with the help of his borrowed eyes, “that we should, ah… rejoin the others, perhaps, ja? Before Jester and Nott buy us pastries and bacon for dinner. I would like-” To see you again. Your faces. Memorise what they look like, through these eyes. “-something, something less…”

"What's your name really, then?"
"The one they gave me is Aleksandra," says Aleksis. "But Sasha is better."
Sasha nods. She feels the burn of the liquor spread in her stomach and hums in pleasure. "They called me Aleksandr too, once."
Aleksis raises his eyebrow. "Yeah?"
"Yeah."
"And what do they call you now?"
"Warden Kaidonovsky, or sometimes 'that pussy'."
Aleksis laughs. It's bright, and it warms Sasha the way vodka never does.

Summary
"Yeah!!! Like... listen." Susie lifts a hand to point a claw at Ralsei, almost sticking it up his nose. "The deal's this: me, grilling you. Good ol' fashioned Twenty Questions. Or... okay, I probably won't get up to twenty if we're gonna be real about this but." Her hand resettles on Ralsei's shoulder as she leans down. "After I ask something, you'll get the floor. Say as much as you want! No us tuning out, no cutting you off. How's that sound?"
--
The $!$! Squad reunites!!! Shenanigans make it increasingly obvious that social graces aren't anyone's strong suit, though.
(Or: Ralsei says "fuck". Really.)

ANYWAY things are great right now, no complaints about these primo hangouts with your Very Bestie. And then Susie grunts, arches her back until it cracks a couple times, and sits up. "Hey, Lancer."
"Yeah?" you say.
She's squinting at two Dark Candy trees a little ways from you both, where Ralsei and the human have camped out while doing the whole "alone together" thing, a.k.a. leaning against opposite sides of seperate tree trunks (definitely different from yesterday; those two were practically attached at the hip, and now this??). "You're seeing this, right?" she says, head jerking their way. "You get what's wrong with this picture?"

Luke watched his face, the shockingly open play of emotions and the way his scars stretched and distorted with each simple movement. He hadn’t quite memorized them all yet. There were times when he was still left reeling by the simple reality of his father’s face.
Anakin’s breathing steadied, and Luke released his own breath in relief. He followed the line of his father’s sight, out into the desert, and to the shifting brown haze that obscured the horizon.
“We’ll have to stay in the ship,” Anakin said. His voice was weak and rasping still, and nothing like the rolling baritone Luke had known before. “Sandstorms are – ”
“Dangerous,” said Luke, feeling oddly wistful. “I know.”
His father blinked. “Yes,” he said slowly. “I suppose you do.” He didn’t look away from the desert.
