Summary
The sun, ever covered by smog, had managed to break through the coverage and shone brighter that day than it had in weeks. It had been then, when Zanka knocked Follo’s foot out from under him which caused the older boy to trip and fall on top of Zanka, that he realized it. The spark was missing.

Summary
Zanka had always had a particularly sensitive sense of smell, even as a child. It was something he was forced to hide as a Nijiku son, as this sensitivity didn't always work in his favour. Strong, heavy smells would linger in his head, making him dizzy and nauseous, until all he could think of was getting away from them, overstimulated and shaking. His family had seen it as a point of weakness, though it often felt to him that every part of himself was a potential weakness growing up.

Summary
Sometimes, Follo wonders how he ever found the audacity in himself to start dating such an established couple. Who knew a confession to a crush would lead to that crush bluntly stating that he had a boyfriend, but that didn’t mean he — or that boyfriend — weren’t interested.

Summary

Zanka blinks at the older man. Then blinks again. Feels like his brain has done a hard reset at the sudden pivot in topic.
Feels dumb when he blurts out, “Follo?”
“Mhm, he was real worried about you missing dinner. Wanted to make sure someone brought you something.” Enjin states, reaching up to rub at his chin in a theatrical display of thoughtfulness. “You know, he could have just brought it himself.”
or
Zanka is injured, and Follo’s reaction forces them to confront unfamiliar feelings.
