“Is everything alright?” Chan asked, instantly ready to step into the leader role, should they need it. “Why aren’t you sleeping?”
“Could hear you being awake and overthinking all across the villa,” Changbin said with a cheeky grin. “And we needed to talk to you. So, here we are!”
Chan picked up his phone. “At two in the morning?”
“It has to be now, or Jisung’s wine buzz will fade completely and he’ll chicken out again.”
“Hey!” Jisung protested, but didn’t offer any further arguments.
“Chicken out of what?” Chan asked as all the nerves in his body tensed. It had to be something important, if Jisung was nervous enough that he had to hype himself up for it. Chan wanted to wrap him up in his arms to reassure him it would all be okay, but he had a feeling that wouldn’t be entirely welcome right now. “What’s going on?”

Summary
The dorm all but shook from Jisung's heavy footsteps, frantic and irrational as he barged out of Chan's room, yelling for the others to wake up. His hands trembled as he stood there in the living room, eyeing the mess left on the coffee table and TV console, the strewn around clothes and food wrappers, and he felt a twitch in his fingers at the uncommon sight. He knew damn well no one would've left that mess after what happened yesterday afternoon.
Something was wrong.
"What's going on? Why are you yelling?" Changbin screamed just as loudly while Hyunjin covered his ears.
"Channie-hyung's not here."
There was a beat of silence, a moment of consideration, before Changbin suggested that Chan might've gotten to the studio earlier to make up for the time they lost yesterday. Or to avoid them.
Jisung, having been awake in what felt like a nightmare for longer than them, shook his head. "No, no. He's not here. His room is different. His bed's gone."

Chan kept his head low and on swivel when he approached the bar. He really didn’t want to run into that guy again, or any of his friends, for that matter. He made it through the crowd without incident and was just about to flag down the bartender when-

Chan turned to find an angel leaning against the bar next to him, looking at Chan with dark, sparkling eyes and a wicked, beautiful smile. Angel was the only way Chan could think to describe the person; long blonde hair half tied up in a ponytail with cute little braids. Skin so perfect it could reflect light, covered in the most spectacular constellation of freckles that Chan instantly wanted to trace with his fingers…
His one remaining braincell that wasn’t entirely preoccupied with admiring this angel couldn’t help but wonder why on earth they were talking to Chan.

Her gaze lifted to the source of the shout and suddenly the world slowed; birds sang the love songs of the gods, and petals rained from the sky. Chan watched in slow motion as another woman approached Minho. She was shorter than her counterpart, noticeably so, and her hair was cut short, dark and thick. ‘Thick’ was a word that also described her arms, one currently raised, fist careening towards the arm of Jisung’s crush. Buzzing filled her ears as she watched the ripple of the impact travel up her arm, almost blacking out as the thick bicep muscle jiggled in the recoil.

Minho lives a simple life. He makes potions, tends to plants, and waits to see his friends again. One day, while he's out picking herbs for his next potion, he finds an injured wolf to nurse back to health (and eventually, a boyfriend).
“I’m taking care of a wolf,” he says, and Seungmin is carefully still for a minute. He seems to be mulling that over, but Minho doesn’t have time to wait for him. Instead, he starts working. He pulls out all of the herbs he needs for today, and starts boiling water on the stove.
“And why are you taking care of a wolf? Seriously, his scent is all over you. What, are you sleeping on him?” Seungmin demands after a minute, and Minho rolls his eyes.

At first Chan had been so ashamed, flushing the deepest crimson every-time he played Genshin and came face-to-face with the reality that Changbin was very correct. But, overtime it became easier for him to accept and just put it aside in his brain.
That was until Jisung decided to start bulking up more, putting more effort into his muscles and particularly his chest.
Or, Chan has a fascination with Jisung’s chest. What could go wrong?

When Chan wakes the next afternoon, sunlight streaming high through his curtains, he feels fine. No heat, no sickness. He lays there in bed with his eyes closed for a moment, breathing in his and Minho's scents combined. His heart aches, but that's old, familiar pain. After every cycle they spend together, years on years of them every few months like clockwork, Chan swallows down the words he can't drag from behind his teeth, deep-cleans his room to purge the last tantalizing traces of spicy alpha, and pretends he doesn't miss it. Pretends he doesn't want more.
Minho will go back to pushing Chan away, and Chan will pretend his affection is just that of pack leader and hyung. That's all it can be, so that's what it is.
And then Chan gets pregnant, and yearning for your co-parent makes life complicated.

Sometimes, his phone buzzes late at night. Sometimes, Hyunjin's laugh is the raft tossed out to sea solely for him, speaking things of weightlessness: "Hyung, tell me about your day. Channie hyung, I haven't seen you in a few hours, so let's talk."
As it usually goes, Chan is drawn to Hyunjin, so his body rises to the surface on those rare nights. It's nice, being able to breathe. Chan thinks it's even better to pretend the world ceases to exist when Hyunjin can allow him such a privilege.
