Summary

Summary

Meanwhile, the prince remains far away and blissfully unaware that his cat is in heat and the emperor, due to an error in understanding, believes that Maomao is already pregnant and decides the right thing for him to do is to reveal this information to the head of the La clan so they might quietly find a way to cover for an unplanned pregnancy that doesn't exist.

Fully contained narrative up to chapter 20
okay wow... felt so many things, really genuine look at transness and transitioning. The final five chapters set up a really good thread re:difference in sexuality versus gender and where they intersect. Really wish it was a completed work, reads like a lot of heart went into this story. Would've enjoyed watching her go from baby trans trying to fit in with conventional womanhood into the bold babe girlymatsu we know and love
One of those you could divorce from the source material completely and read straight (with a little bit of filing)
Def worth a reread in the future (despite reading it twice already lmao)
ALSO I LOVE KARAKO SO MUUUUUUCCCHHHHH oh my god my sweet sweet scared little girl I just want to scoop her up and take her shopping and to a proper therapist (love ichiko but karako needs someone she's not friends with to dump on)

Summary
Life can get pretty dull when you’re a 20-something NEET, but Karamatsu’s never really minded it too much. It was something like being on a carousel: the ups and downs were more or less predictable, but it was still fun enough to keep riding. But maybe one day it’s not so much like a carousel anymore. Maybe it’s more like a whirlpool, and all he can do is reach out, reach out, and hope blindly for a way to pull himself back to land.
