He grinned. “Well, yeah. Had I told them that I’m a pirate and I actually had robbed the facility moments ago, I’d be heading straight to the gallows.” Getting hanged really wasn’t in his plans that day. “Are you going to tell me what landed you here?”
“They say,” the voice replied, mimicking his tone, “I stabbed someone.”
“Did you?”
“If I did,” the omega said, “he was a nasty alpha and deserved it.”OR: Hongjoong meets Seonghwa in a prison cell. smuttier than I’m really comfortable with but the way Seonghwa was written makes up for it. I like that he’s kind of mean and a badass; a lot of the fics (esp abo) make him so soft and forget the duality irl Seonghwa has.

Summary

The first 20 or so chapters of this fic I think are some of the greatest I’ve ever read. Stupendous dialogue that is both communicative for the characters and enjoyable to read, without sounding like therapy speak; it sounds so human. Compelling character dynamics, lots of fun to read over all.
My only complaint is more a matter of taste, in that personally I would not have made San a vampire, but it actually works really well with the story even though I had been put off by it at first. Also, this fic was such a page turner, I literally couldn’t put it down and spent multiple nights not really sleeping because of it (oops, sorry not sorry 🤭).

Some mid-level functionary would have been far easier to manipulate—to study their weaknesses, learn what made them tick, and carefully position himself as an indispensable ally. But no, he had to charm the one man in Fontaine supposedly immune to charm."
