“They said I lied,” Hongjoong said, remembering the looks on the guards faces, the way one of them had punched him in the gut and threatened to make him regret lying.
“Did you?” omega asked. There was no curiosity in the voice, like he was asking the question just to entertain Hongjoong or be polite, not because he actually cared for the answer.
He grinned. “Well, yeah. Had I told them that I’m a pirate and I actually had robbed the facility moments ago, I’d be heading straight to the gallows.” Getting hanged really wasn’t in his plans that day. “Are you going to tell me what landed you here?”
“They say,” the voice replied, mimicking his tone, “I stabbed someone.”
“Did you?”
“If I did,” the omega said, “he was a nasty alpha and deserved it.”OR: Hongjoong meets Seonghwa in a prison cell. smuttier than I’m really comfortable with but the way Seonghwa was written makes up for it. I like that he’s kind of mean and a badass; a lot of the fics (esp abo) make him so soft and forget the duality irl Seonghwa has.

Summary
Humanity is on its last legs on the planet that took its revenge for their grandiosity, and the emergence of alphas, betas, and omegas serve to bring it back to what it once was. But the terrain is rugged and severe, not fit for the subgender created for repopulation, and so the government graciously protects them in a tower. They'll never have to worry about survival, just focused on birthing as many future generations as possible.
