So Mira sinks further into the bed, slows down her breathing as she listens to Rumi’s soft inhales and exhales, as the weight and thickness of the blanket begins to warm her sore muscles and she finally begins to relax a little.
She likes this.
The calm sort of quietness she only ever manages to achieve, to properly feel, within the presence of the other two. The way she knows they’re both there, can feel their souls flickering over the bond between them and the Honmoon humming beyond that – how that alone makes her happy. To be around them.
A moment long, she dares to hope that this is what waits for them once the Honmoon is golden .
“We could just ask her.” The words break the silence between them – Mira raises her gaze and finds that Zoey has abandoned her phone in favour of staring at Rumi, her fingers squeezing the fabric of the blanket, as if she was trying to stop herself from running them through Rumi’s hair, instead. “I know we said we would wait, but… but what if we just asked? What if we just told her? What if she said yes, Mira?”

The memories of the Melting wouldn’t leave her, and neither did the grief. Glinda tried everything she could to fall asleep: switching rooms, rubbing lavender lotion on her hands, even drinking a foul tasting concoction that one of her handmaidens swore would put her to sleep as soon as her head hit the pillow (it didn’t). And even when she did manage to fall asleep sometime just before dawn, Elphaba’s screams jarred her awake.
So one night Glinda found herself sitting at the desk in her study with a blank sheet of paper in front of her. Dear Elphaba, she wrote, and then watched the words waver at the top of the page. She crossed them out and started over. Dearest Elphaba . It was ridiculous. Elphaba would never read her words again. But she found that they came anyway, faster than she could commit them to paper.
Or: Glinda begins writing letters to Elphaba in the aftermath of the Melting. When she pushes herself beyond the point of exhaustion four years later, Chistery decides to take matters into his own hands and deliver the letters to Elphaba in an attempt to save Glinda's life.

"Rise had always loved using nicknames and pet names for Naoto. They started off pretty normal - things like Nao-kun, or baby, or darling, or dear, or sweetheart. But as their relationship progressed, she seemed to come up with increasingly ridiculous names. Grumpy bear was one of her favorites she still used often, even though Naoto didn’t understand where it came from. Truthfully, that was one of the more normal ones. Recently, she’d taken to just making up words. Like, seriously, what the hell is a scrumply wumply? A skiddlywinks? What about doodlefloat?
Naoto caused this problem herself, she supposed. If she didn’t react like a highschool girl with her first ever crush every single time, maybe it wouldn’t be so bad."
