As world-rocking as the news was, however, Keeley was determined not to let it throw her off balance. She was a rock, a steady force that would not be shaken, even by her ex-boyfriends’ strange relationship. There was no need for her to be put-off or taken aback by it anyways; after all, they’d apparently been dating for eight months and everything had been completely normal, not a single thing out of place to her knowledge. She would be able to continue on without interruption, because everything was exactly as it had been.

And Jamie's eyes had flashed in anger and he'd pushed his hands out of his sleeves and pressed one of them against Roy's neck.
"Fucking hell!" Roy had said, ducking away because they were actually blocks of fucking ice.

Poster Roy did not agree, of course, the idiot. Summary
Everyone knew that AFC Richmond was notoriously insular. Ted Lasso was very reluctant to sign any new players lest they mess with his carefully constructed changing room cult. It was the Lasso way or the highway. Jan Maas was one of the few exceptions. Coming from a season long loan at Ajax, he was in the prime of his career and ripe to break into England’s top flight. Well that’s what the press was saying anyway.
The lads on the team were excited to meet their new teammate and friend. What they weren’t ready for was someone so resistant to friendship. It wasn’t that he was antagonistic, he was a delight to have around. Jan never made a fuss, just got on with his job and helped the team. He was polite and brought baked goods on people’s birthdays, even the members of the back room staff which made Ted like him immediately of course. He seemed to be a genuinely nice guy.
But he was so secretive.

Summary
“Hey there, Jamie,” Ted says with more than his usual enthusiasm. “It’s awful nice to see you. How’ve you been?”
“Oh,” Jamie says, smug like he’s been for days now, “I’m doing great, thanks for asking.”
He surreptitiously separates his hand from Roy’s, bringing it up to his face to show off the ring.
Roy watches Nate lean too far forward in his seat on the shelf and jerk back, overcorrecting, watches Beards eyes widen like saucers and his mouth drop open. Roy was right. Fucking with them is so much fun when it’s not paired with deep emotional turmoil.
Trent’s face hasn’t fully settled back into a passive expression, but his voice is casual when he asks, “new ring, Jamie?”Or, Roy and Jamie finally communicated with each other; now they have to tell everyone else. (And Jamie has decided they’re engaged.)
This is very much a sequel/epilogue and I imagine it won’t make much sense without reading thumbs because it is a bit self-referential and very indulgent, but it’s also just a silly coming out fic, so maybe it could be? Proceed at will (and if it doesn’t make sense, feel free to read thumbs or to abandon ship.)

He kept his eyes on the table, irrationally afraid that Dani would somehow be able to read it off his face, that he’d take one look at Jamie and know.
He should've just said it. Should’ve just mentioned it outright in the car, like, "Hey, by the way, remember that girl I went home with? Yeah, it was Keeley."
He couldn't though. Even if Dani didn’t outright say it was a bad idea to do this again, Jamie’d see it in his face, and he couldn't stand that.
