Now Tommy has to handle pulling off the heist of his life, all while hiding his true identity from both the tyrannical government and his new associates in the most feared gang in the city.

he re-reads the instructions, mouthing it silently. he doesn’t think he’s made a mistake. he’s gotten all of it right.
he takes a deep breath, then looks over the summoning circle hes made, in the depths of an abandoned house he found.
candles give off a dim light, shining on the dark red liquid that’s sloshing around in the bowl tubbo is holding.
he tosses the bowl into the circle, watching the contents spill, and starts chanting, chanting until his voice is raw and scratchy.
just when he thinks it won’t work, that he’s done something wrong, something echoes through the house. he falters in his words, seeing the circle he messily drew out of cheap chalk start to glow.
then, someone- no, something comes out of it.

-other possible ending to the Schrödinger’s cat fic. This one I refuse to accept as cannon.
-but oh did it fucking hurt.
-Tommy does not do okay in this one.
-his family thinks they are helping, and they are not. And then they’re just making things worse.
-I refuse to believe they would have forgotten his birthday and not think of him on Christmas.
-the two endings are really proving the whole “distance makes the heart grow fonder” thing. Bc they talk to him often here, and don’t have the chance to really really miss him, and in the other, they go over a year without hearing him. And it hurts.
-tbh both endings made me sad. But this one just made me sadder.
-made me cry in my room at 5:30 am. Maybe from lack of sleep, but mostly from how sad this was.
-this made me finally understand the term “makes your heart hurt” because multiple times while reading this fic. I did feel my actual heart hurt and break a bit from the tragedy.
-last two lines had me sobbing. -

-it’s what I have chosen to believe as cannon.
-because it’s so good, Ans the other one made me sob.
-Tommy does a lot of character growth in his own, and that’s awesome.
-he does make his entire family think he’s dead, which is less awesome.
-but he’s doing so good! Ans he’s out adventuring! Ans he’s doing all he needs to do to help become the best version of himself.
-this one made me cry at 5am because the ending just. Ahhh. Bittersweet. But also so so so good.
-it home. Family and having a home can co-exist with freedom. I loved it so much. -

Tommy stumbled through the snow, ears ringing and body aching. He hadn't expected Dream to be that mad. He definitely wasn't expecting Dream to blow everything up. Right now all he expected and wanted to do was go steal all of his older brother's shit and maybe find a way to get back home along the way.
What he didn't expect was to wake up frozen in the tundra without his hearing. What Techno didn't expect was to suddenly be dealing with his deaf younger brother who refused to tell him anything about what happened to him.

His wings have gone numb, which is almost, almost good, because now he can’t feel the shifting, broken bones inside of the left one, just under feathers and muscle.
He doesn’t know why he’s still walking.

Or, Tommy leaves the exploded ruins of Logstedshire behind, and walks until he finds somewhere safe.
And things keep going from there.

After being exiled, Tommy didn't think his life could get worse. His only solace in his isolation from his old friends was being able to fly in secret at night (unbeknownst to Dream, who refused to let him do much of anything fun, let alone use his wings). Tommy's wings, one of the only things he has that Dream doesn't.
Until Dream catches him flying.
And rips them off.
