As the hunt goes on, they eventually find themselves running for different reasons, reasons they could not comprehend.

Summary
When he failed to get his wish, Jack Horner used his magical artifacts in an attempt to escape Death. He still died, of course; but Death had been injured in a previous fight, leaving the wolf vulnerable. Now Midas’ Touch is spreading, and Death can only slow the process until he finds a cure. He will need help for that, but most magical and non-magical beings would much rather let the embodiment of Death turn into a gold statue forever and grant everyone immortality. Well, most beings.
Or: Death gets a curse, a conscience, and a crush. One might argue he just got three curses. But Midas’ Touch is the more direct threat to his existence and work, so he will look for a solution to this particular problem, and ignore the other two until they go away.

Summary
Death pops up before Puss one day and informs him that he is going to die soon unless the reaper himself intervenes. Which he is willing to do, for a price. Just a simple favor, he says.
This was how Puss found himself telling the physical manifestation of Karma (along with a slew of other anthropomorphised concepts he didn’t even know had corporeal forms) that he, The Puss in Boots, was indeed courting Death.

He didn't think he could ever redeem himself, nor ever remake the legacy he'd tarnished.

That’s exactly what a young, confident and maybe *slightly* arrogant Puss in Boots thought when he made the decision to leave his small, picturesque Spanish hometown and head to the American west coast.
New people, new friends, money and fame, those were his goals. Maybe even a handsome rival he simply did not want to fall for. But most importantly, he was there to become the legend he was predestined to be, and no one could get in the way of his dream.
Inspired by “Dancing with our hands tied” by mrougev and toblossom! It’s my first serious story so please bear with me, I’m trying my best here.

Summary
Death’s sacred duty to collect souls was a purpose that no one else but he could fulfill. Although introducing the end upon mortals was a gratifying role for him, it was also a simple comfort and mundane task to pass the never ending days.
But then, an egocentric legend, Puss in Boots, mocks the meaning of Death with his idiotic deaths and pompous nature.
It was an opportunity that appeared once in every blue moon. The barbaric hunt to snuff out the last life, as well as feast upon the soul and body, of an arrogant gatito.
Death will savor every pleasant chance he has to add a pinch of fear onto the fearless hero, Puss in Boots. It’ll be the finest meal that he’s had yet.
After the loss of his legacy, his friends, and the Wish, Puss in Boots takes desperate measures to defer the ferocious wolf that had promptly ingrained himself into his lonesome, fearful days.

Summary
Puss was doing his best to stay out of trouble after his adventure to the Wishing Star. He knew that Death was still out there, still waiting in the sidelines. When the wolf had promised that he would watch over him, Puss will soon realize that he had caught Death's attention in more ways than one.
But when he decided to visit his long-time friends in Far Far Away, things turn deadly when he gets caught up in the middle of something that was beyond his control, and Death is doing everything to keep him alive.

Or: In which Death finds himself reluctantly taking care of Puss, who is, of course, always getting himself hurt. Only, Death finds out that he'd left Puss with more than just physical injuries, and now he has to contend with the fact that he'd traumatized the damn gato.

Summary
Yharnam is well known for it's blood ministration. The properties in its blood draw would-be hunters from all over. One hunter, a small orange feline, awakens in Yharnam after his transfusion and is quickly overwhelmed by the rapidly deteriorating situation all around him. Around him are small glimmers of hope, and one comes in the form of a white wolf clad in black.
