Or even, “Missed me, princess?” when Archer commented that it had been a while since they’d done a proper session together.
Maybe Beau is just a ridiculous person who calls his friends random shit all the time. Archer wouldn’t mind that, but the part that he does mind, is that he likes being called ‘princess’. He actually enjoys it. It makes him feel warm and cared for, which is fucking ridiculous, because Beau is just his buddy who he plays an online roleplaying game with.

“Don’t -” Don’t call me that is trapped on the tip of Evan’s tongue when he bites it back. It’s been their usual song and dance for years, a comfortable script that Evan has to pull back from. It’s jarring, but he’s no longer the hero Hamelin; at the same time, he isn’t sure if he can go back to being just Evan again. Not entirely. “Don’t do this,” he says instead, and because he can feel his resolve weakening, he adds, “please.”

He’d barely thought of Klavier’s radio show in months, and suddenly he was desperate for a familiar voice. It was nice being able to talk to Nahyuta and Datz whenever he wanted to, and he could call the office occasionally to talk to Trucy, Athena and Mr Wright, but those were conversations he actually had to participate in.
Being able to zone out and simply listen to Klavier talk sounded...comforting, in a way?

When he flirts along the edges of relapse, the light isn’t quite there, like a faltering lightbulb on the brink of burning out. He stumbles in the waking hours and you stumble in the dark.
Little by little he is becoming something in your rote routine, breaking it apart in a way you aren’t quite prepared for. You’re frustrated by it, by how quickly he had such a hold on you. You’ve never needed another soul in your life.

He had noticed Garak coughing a couple of times before he left, had set the back of his hand to one cool gray cheek and found it neither warm nor chilled, and frowned thoughtfully.
“You feel fine, but I’d still like to do a scan,” Julian said.
“You’ll do no such thing; you’re running behind as it is,” Garak had replied, which really should have been Julian’s cue to force the issue.

After years of living together on Cardassia Prime, Garak begins to succumb to Perek Syndrome, a disease caused by feelings of unreciprocated love. With his friend refusing both surgery or divulging the cause, it's up to Julian to find another form of treatment before it's too late.
