"The sky was full of dark clouds.
Not the soft, fluffy gray ones people many years prior would expect on a rainy or overcast day. No, these clouds looked like ash and steel in places and tinged a sickly green, shallow brown, or a bruised purple in others. When the sun was directly behind them they glowed much like the color of an infected wound, or perhaps the salty skin of a corpse left floating along a body of water and festering in the sun for days.
This was all thanks to smoke, pumped out by factories or wildfires, or some other wasteful human embellishment. "the world has gone to shit, everything is dying and the cruelty of humanity is inevitable.
