Summary
Shane Hollander knows he’s not a small guy. Years of hockey and workouts have built up his muscles, and lucky genetics from his father’s side places him just shy of six feet. He’s checked hockey players half a foot and several pounds more than him, knocked Scott Hunter into the ice in the one fight he’s ever actually thrown hands in. But as much as Shane loves the game, the fast movements, passes, and team camaraderie, there were times where he could only feel regret at following the path of athletic fame. He puts on the media smile he practices in the mirror as he brushes his hair each day, uses the bright lights of press conferences to erase his view of the audience, and keeps his answers simple and focused on hockey.
The number of people outside the arena still makes him feel crushed in on all sides, small. Eyes trained on his face, cameras flashing, pens and cell phones being passed into his hands. The itch of it all settles under his skin.

If Buck thought the aftermath of the lawsuit was bad, it had nothing – absolutely nothing – on the Winchesters barreling into his life, finding out the apocalypse was imminent, that his own death was a seal, and a demon hitting on him.
He really should have realized that when an angel shows up to stop you from throwing yourself off a bridge, that it isn’t always a good thing.

After the lawsuit, Buck is back at work, hoping to reconcile. Only...it doesn't go as planned. His family hates him and after a lifetime of rejection it's one hit too many. Buck plans his goodbye…only a certain angel stops him, 'borrows' him, hands him the Winchester-patented starter's guide to hunting manual, and gives him purpose again. Too bad that angel was so busy saving Buck, they forgot about the goodbye letters left in the loft.

Buck’s first shift back at the 118 after the lawsuit was nothing like he’d imagined and Buck wasn't sure how he'd bridge the sudden distance between him and his team. But the disappointment of their brush-off was eclipsed when he came home from that first shift to find an old flame waiting on his doorstep with a choice that was really no choice at all. Buck had no idea how to be a dad, especially without the help of the people he'd come to think of as his family, but he was determined to figure it out; and maybe figure out some things about himself along the way.

She's had great highs like marrying the love of her life, Bradley Bradshaw, and he would be transferring to a base back in the United States sooner than they had anticipated. There were also deep lows like the 118 becoming a toxic work environment, and Bradley having to go back to Oceana for a few missions before officially transferring closer to home.
She would like to have the relationship with the 118 that she used to have, but had mostly given up on it. Really, all she wanted was her husband to come home. Her husband, whom nobody else in LA knows she has.

He made a considering noise, “Or, how about…here?” He said, then kissed the opposite side of Buck’s face, chastely pecking his cheek.
“Or, I know,” He teased, “Here,” He said, so tenderly that Buck’s chest cracked open wide, splitting neatly down the middle. He pressed his lips to the spot above Buck’s left brow, right where his birthmark was. Buck’s eyes fluttered shut, giving Eddie access to kiss where his birthmark continued under his brow.

On a simple grocery run after a long week at work, Buck is carjacked and taken to an abandoned house where he is sexually assaulted. He wanted to put it all behind him, but he discovers he is pregnant, and his whole world changes. Buck doesn't know how he would ever manage to be a single father, especially when the baby's father is his rapist. He's all alone in the world and Buck doesn't know if he or his baby will survive.
