ALTERNATE UNIVERSE — This is a true mashup of three generations of Hogwarts students: Tom Riddle’s Era, the Marauder’s Era, and Harry Potter’s era. It’s AU, so the characters are pretty OOC. Harry, himself, is named Hadrian Morgan in this fic — bastard heir of the Potters — and is sorted into Ravenclaw after he was accepted into Hogwarts during his 7th Year. The delay in his magical education was because of Albus Dumbledore and the Potters, they wanted to keep him out of sight, but failed horribly when Hadrian finally gets tired of pretending to be a simple raven and decides to bite back, this time, as a true snake (against the Gryffindors that constantly bullied him throughout his stay at Hogwarts). Kind of cracky, kind of serious.
THOUGHTS — A good read. I wholly enjoyed the first half of the story (which was the original length of the fic) and mostly skimmed the latter half (I’m not a fan of sequels.) it’s in hiatus and has been for a while, but I consider it pretty complete so *shrug* romance-wise, It’s an insta-love story done well (cause it doesn’t pretend to be anything else.) I read more as a short crack fic, and wasn’t disappointed. I admittedly did not expect the depth in character conflicts for the first half of the story, that was definitely compelling. But kudos to the author for doing such a good job mixing some silliness and humor to a little bit of intriguing drama.
Their writing was pretty good as well. It’s admittedly a bit heavy on the exposition (lots of telling but not enough showing). There were like blocks and blocks of text one after the other and it was so so tempted to just skip it all.
As for plot, well I didn’t enjoy the sequel-part of the story all that much, but I still read it because the characters were interesting. So was the entire universe that the author created by mashing the characters al together like that. And, as mentioned, I found the first half really fun and charming. Would read again, probably.

MAJOR AU / TIMELINE MASHUP — Tom is picked up by his father Tom Sr. after his 1st Year at Hogwarts. Having grown up as a muggle and finding out he’s a wizard from Dumbledore, Tom grows up much the same. He’s not treated well on either side of the spectrum. Fortunately, his father is there to take him home. It’s not easy, at first. But Tom Sr. Shows a willingness to go beyond for his son, and Tom Jr. follows in suit once he’s proven it. Oh! And this has just about every canon!character of importance in the same timeline. That means that, after spending the Summer with Tom Sr., Tom goes back to Hogwarts and meets Harry Potter, a first year, soon-to-be-roommate, that is desperate to befriend him,
THOUGHTS — AN ALL TIME FAVORITE! Ahhhh this is just so fricken interesting! Seriously, the universe is so unique and fun. The writing is not perfect, but it’s pretty good, bar a few minor grammatical errors and spelling errors another couple rounds of editing can fix easily. More important is the story itself. And the characters!
Oh the characters! They’re all done very well here. Some are OOC, but considering that this is an AU, that’s warranted. My favorites, oddly enough, or perhaps unsurprisingly (?), has to be the father-son-duo. Tom Sr and Tom Jr are so fricken adorable, and their relationship is meaningful. The slow built to trust, and later, their familial bond is just ugh, so sweet. Little Harry is fricken cute too. He hasn’t appeared much, since the main focus of this fic is Sr & Jr, but his appearances have been noteworthy indeed.
Plot-wise, well I can’t complain now can I? The timeline has completely shifted, and certain roles have been changed just ever so slightly (more for minor characters than major ones, so no issues there), to allow for this exciting timeline mashup.) The TwinTom’s relationship was a good startup arc. Just precious. And Tom going back into Hogwarts didn’t disappoint. The only issue people might have is the Dumble!Bashing, but I honestly don’t care lol He’s a good conflict instigator, and it would be hard to enjoy a story without proper conflicts. Dumbles needs a good bashing anyways. And he’s not the focus. I’m just happy that the story isn’t going to go easy all the time, and that there are more than just internal bumps on the road for the main casts.
Now, I’m not sure if the hiatus this is in is permanent... I certainly hope not ;; but I’m definitely going to come back to read it either way. I’m tempted to reread it now, actually! Since the author put so much detail into it.
Note: For those who are hesitant to start a story that is unfinished. Fuck it. Just read it anyway. It’s worth the pain of being left hanging. The story is fairly fast-paced, so it gets pretty far in. Far enough that you get an idea of the plot direction. Just enough, So that, if it never updates again, you won’t be left too disappointed.
1ST REREAD THOUGHTS — I enjoyed it just as thoroughly the second-go around! Still dying to know what happens next. And so so fond of the father-son duo! Here’s to hoping that I’ll be catch it if it ever does update!
2ND REREAD THOUGHTS — Always so fun to come back to this one! The father-son duo are just too cute T.T No extra notes this time either. But I’m looking forward for whatever else the author has planned.
3RD REREAD THOUGHTS — I like it so much that I remember it too well 😢 I’ll have to come back another time. I didn’t make it very far this time.
(UPDATE) I went back to continue reading it the next day knowing that I was reading it more for self-indulgence than anything else LOL Went much smoother this time, made it all the way to the most recent chapter too!

AU — Harry, a 17 year old Wizard is locked up in a tower with a Dragon he calls Tom. They escape after a year, but Tom has completely vanished. In his place a human Tom appears to help Harry look for his dragon.
THOUGHTS — Ahhhh this was a fun AU. I love the character portrayals here. Very well done. And the way the author twisted storylines while maintaining the core elements that made the characters THEM, was very well done as well. It’s not the cleanest work. I think it could do with some editing, definitely. But the prose itself is more than fine. It’s easy to read and engaging. Plus, the premise was interesting! Some things were left unresolved, but the romance was settled, and that’s what I recommend this reading for. It’s sweet, kind of corny but in a good way.

TIMELINE MASHUP — Mysterious timeline Mashup. Harry Potter shows up in Tom’s life (as a budding dark lord working at Borgin and Burke’s), and proceeds to spoil Tom with many many wonderful things.
THOUGHTS — I loved it! It’s unfinished. Which is sad. But it’s worth the read either way. A nice perspective on how things could have been. You know? I think a lot of tomarry fics kind of focus either focus on Tom’s Hogwart years or Harry’s Hogwarts years. So it’s nice to find a rare gem like this that can act as a sort of window to another view of Tom’s life. Kind of humanizes Tom a little too. He’s not a good boy. No no. But he’s human.
I also like this mystery going on. I’m as hooked as Tom is on Harry. Who is a mystery largely this unsolved. Obviously this is not a time travel fic, if Draco exist in this timeline and so do the Dursleys and Sirius. However, if that’s true, and Harry is really just an innocent ravenclaw alchemist. It would make certain things very convenient indeed. So idk. It’s riveting either way.
Will definitely read again! And am desperately hoping it will update one day.
1ST REREAD THOUGHTS — Just as compelling as I remember! And amusing too. 😂 Harry really is spoiling Tom a lot. But at the very least he’s appreciative of it. No one just put for another person’s money and favor would be so possessive. Looking forward to the rest!

ALTERNATE UNIVERSE — Kind of like a modern YA Romance. Set in Harry Potter. But less about magic and more about the drama?? LMFAO! It’s a fun read. The characters are kind of caricatures of their canon-selves though. So if you’re not for that. I would suggest staying away. I liked it. It’s humorous and rather cute. To my surprise! I’ve read other fics from the author before so 🤷🏻♀️ I just really enjoy their work ig.
1ST REREAD THOUGHTS — The characters are definitely incredibly superficial caricatures but the plot is a Golden trope 😂 just can’t stay away from them. And the author writers very well too. Their prose is easy to read. And they managed to structure it so that only the important scenes are shown (so that we’re not dragged along unnecessarily).

The day his father brings home Lily Luna Potter, a girl who can't possibly be older than Tom is, Tom says nothing. He says nothing, goes to his room, and texts Barty about Tom Riddle Senior's latest mid-life crisis.

And, well, Barty means it as a joke, but it gets Tom thinking. So he looks her up. He looks up Lily Luna Potter on Instagram and Twitter and VSCO and TikTok, all the places that girls his age are hanging around on, and eventually comes across her father.
Her father isn't half bad, if Tom's being honest. He's actually rather handsome—defined square jaw and dark, thick hair. Jewel green eyes. Tom imagines, for a moment, screwing Harry Potter at his house, wherever that is, then having breakfast across from Lily Luna Potter the next morning.
The more Tom thinks about it, the more it sounds like fun.
