There’s a kid who’s been frequenting the bodega near Matt’s house. Normally, he wouldn’t give a rat’s ass who is at the bodega at the same time as him, but something about the kid stands out.
Maybe it’s the way that he always seems to be in a rush. The rustling of a school bag, feet tapping against the floor during the rare times that he’s still, and the mouth that doesn’t stop running, even if it talks him into a spiral.
Today, when Matt enters the bodega after finishing a petty thief case that took up the majority of his afternoon, he’s assaulted by the smell of smoke.
Or, A broke lawyer vigilante and broke student vigilante keep very similar hours. And very similar diets of store ramen and bad caffeine options.

Bending his knees to avoid getting thrown off by the sudden lurch, Dick immediately felt himself focus in. It wasn’t likely that there was a villain attack on Wayne Tower, but the odds were never zero.
“What the fuck?” Jason hissed, sounding more panicked than Dick thought he would be.

Red Hood and Red Robin burst into a warehouse that was supposed to be full of drugs and grunts, only to find it mostly empty.Mostly, besides the giant stack of very illegal explosives in almost the center of the room. By the time they realized they were set up, the large iron door to the warehouse was closed behind them, locking them in.

Peter isn’t really thinking as he swings over to the cabin that he knows holds Mr. Stark and his family. He isn’t thinking about the fact that the sun has already set, which means that Morgan is already asleep, and it's a quiet night, which means that Tony is likely heading to bed early.
There’s no time for anxiety and second thoughts when your chest is full of mind-searing grief, a pain so strong that Peter swears he’s choking on it.

There was a lot that Jason regretted in life.
Flying to Ethiopia to meet his biological mom, whom he had never interacted with a day in his life. Trying to steal tires from the Batmobile. Hell, just trying to hang out in the specific place in Crime Alley that everyone told him not to.
However, there was nothing Jason regretted more than telling Damian that he was immortal.
Or, a crack fic where Damian kills Jason a lot in true brotherly fashion. It’s all fine and dandy until someone that isn’t Damian kills Jason.

Peter is sitting curled up into a ball on the living room couch when Tony finds him.
When the man walks in, all loud steps and gesturing arms before he even begins speaking, Peter’s eyes don’t move to him like they normally would. Instead, they stay locked onto a random spot on the wall, and Peter tries to scrounge up some semblance of feeling at the fact that Tony is about to see him like this.

It took Tim a while to realize that his time with Joker stuck with him in more ways than one.
Of course, there was the obvious. The scars on his cheeks, the green hair, the chemically dyed skin. Those were things that everyone noticed. The things that Tim could tell everyone tried not to stare at.
Then there were more subtle things. The days where Tim didn’t feel like Tim. The days where he swore there was a voice in his head that sounded just like Joker Junior.
He tried to ignore it for a while. Told himself it was just the remnants of the psychological trauma induced by his time with the Joker.
But the voice didn’t go away, and the longer Tim tried to ignore it, the crazier he felt.

“Doesn’t matter. Can you heal it?”
This time, Tommy looks thoroughly offended. “Of course I can heal it. Who do you think I am?” He puffs out his chest and rolls his sleeves up, that dark look still lingering in his eyes.
Techno awkwardly sat down on the medical seat with prompting from Tommy. He expects Tommy to reach for some bandages or to use the sink built into a countertop to clean his wound.
What he is not expecting, however, is for Tommy’s scrawny yet corded arms to wrap around his head and violently snap. He barely has time to realize how awfully he just screwed up before the world goes dark and Techno dies.

Jason coughs, even though the airborne particles don’t feel like they’ve invaded his lungs. He sits down on the rough concrete floor of the rooftop when his legs wobble like jelly beneath his weight.
“Hit with something airborne. Losing fine motor controls and consciousness,” Dick reports, collapsing to the floor next to Jason, just a foot apart. He tries to reach out. To do what he’s not sure, but his hand doesn’t even make it close before his vision entirely blacks out.

The first thing that went through Tim’s mind when Damian Al-Ghul Wayne was dropped off at the doorstep of the Manor by a badass-looking Talia Al-Ghul claiming that the demon was Bruce’s kid was: at least I won't be the only human anymore.
Until said demon child tries to kill him. Multiple times.
Or, Tim Drake has to handle vampires and a Damian Al-Ghul Wayne who is in fact trying to kill him.

Summary
Of course, in the amazing luck of loss that is Bruce’s life, there comes a day where he realizes he might not be enough to save his children. There's the night that changes everything, the night that he races to the warehouse with something that feels so similar to a heartbeat racing in his ears.
He gets there just out of time. Grief, something so strong that it almost sends him to his knees, wracks through him as he cradles his son's dead body in his arms, something that was never supposed to happen like this.
Still, he tries to make it right. Fangs slide into his son’s neck so easily, and a sob almost makes it way past Bruce’s throat when Jason stays limp in his arms.
When he detaches fangs from Jason’s neck, he brushes dirty locks of dark hair from his boy’s forehead. There are smudges of soot and blood smeared across his face, and Bruce does his best to clean it off as he waits.
And waits.
And waits.
Or, Jason dies in the warehouse and Bruce tries to make him a vampire to save his life, though is just too late. When Jason wakes up in his grave very much not human, it changes things.

Summary
Consciousness must fade in and out slightly, because Peter opens his eyes and he’s laying on his back in the quinjet, the lights on the ceiling looking more like blobs than anything else. Sitting up, Peter brings a shaky hand to his head that pounds with pain, and he waits for his vision to go back from black to be sure he’s sure that he’s not going to pass out.
The first thing he does with his slightly less fuzzy vision is look around. He can’t quite make out the shapes of people, more so colors. Which is why he immediately notices a pool of red on the ground, smeared as if someone had slipped in the substance.
“Wha-" Peter tries to ask, words feeling like cotton in his mouth. Someone is hurt, which means that he needs to help them. His heart pounds with sharp panic that feels physically painful.

A shaking hand rose to cover Phil’s mouth. “We need to figure that out, mate.”
This time it’s Tommy who takes the pause. “You’re telling me that’s not normal?”

Summary
The first thing that Techno began to notice was how Tommy would lean on things a lot.
The second thing he noticed was how whenever Tommy’s steps slowed down, the kid had a tendency to link arms with him, head set straight ahead with determination, as if daring Techno to question the behavior.
When Techno saw his cane peeking out of the corner of his closet, things began to make a lot more sense.
Or, Tommy has some reserves about using his mobility aid in public. Techno reassures him.

Summary
Peter’s day had been going fine until he got hit in the side of the head mid battle and his hearing aids got damaged.
He stumbled to the side, raising a hand to his ear with one hand while the other whipped in front of him to web the alien thing that he was attacking.
Both of his hearing aids managed to get damaged with the one hit, and Peter was left reeling when everything around him suddenly sounded like it’s underwater. He could make loud noises, but couldn’t tell where they were coming from, and couldn’t discern what they were.
Or, Peter's hearing aids break while out with the Avengers, and Tony realizes that he has no way to communicate with Peter when that happens. He decides to fix that.

Life was strange after Tony found out his secret. Peter was used to the feelings of hunger panging in his stomach and making him feel more tired and lethargic. Ever since Tony and Steve found out, though? They always made sure that Peter was getting active feedings, even on the days where Peter wanted to do anything except admit that he’s a vampire.
It was strange, a new normal that Peter was still taking time to get used to. Another thing he was getting used to is being okay with people in his life finding out that he’s a vampire. Now that the cats out of the bag and Peter realized he’s not going to be staked in the heart or something, he’s slightly more acceptant of letting the other Avengers know. Mostly because they find out on their own anyways.
