It’s late. Or rather very, very early. He’s pretty sure Wild hasn’t even tried to sleep yet, though he can’t say just how long he’s been sitting up on one of the tall outcrops behind the village. A quick once over reveals that he doesn’t seem particularly upset, or on guard. Wind had noticed pretty early on that he’s the type to get a bit anxious and fidgety sometimes, but that’s not really what’s happening here either.
Maybe he’s a little sad?
It’s kind of like the way Niko used to get when they were away at sea for just a bit too long, no land in sight for days and days and nothing but the rolling waves and dancing wind to keep them company.
Wind loves to tell stories about his adventures. Wild loves to listen.

“I don’t dream,” Wolfwood said, lifting one shoulder in a shrug.
Meryl drummed her fingers against the steering wheel, her sharp eyes meeting Vash’s through the glass of the rearview mirror.
Wolfwood rarely talked in his sleep, but sometimes his lips moved, forming the shape of words like stop and don’t and please. His long lashes would flutter over the high arch of his cheekbones as he shivered and twitched, knees pulled up towards his chest like he was trying to make himself small. Vash had reached for him, once, fingertips barely skimming across the line of Wolfwood’s arm before he bolted upright, the whites of his eyes flashing wildly in the dark.
Vash and Meryl try to bring Wolfwood in from the cold. Told in seven parts.

Meryl could let him keep his ruse. She could tell him to watch where he steps because they can’t have him breaking an ankle. She could wish him well, roll over, and pretend to go back to sleep.
“You don’t have to do that,” Meryl says instead.
Vash cocks his head. “Do what?”
“That thing you do,” she says. “Where you act like a klutz for others’ benefit.”
Or, Meryl considers how Vash the Stampede can be clumsy one minute and frighteningly agile the next and realizes it’s by design.

Jason’s first mistake was hacking the Bats’ secret comm channel.
Although could it really be called hacking when they’d never bothered to change their frequency since his Robin days? All he’d had to do was log on, and boom – instant access to the best ways to avoid meddlesome Bats while he got shit done. And since his end was carefully muted, they wouldn’t even know anyone was listening.
His second mistake was thinking he could listen without getting sucked back into their drama.
Jason came back to Gotham with two intentions: one – protect Crime Alley and do it right this time. And two – avoid the Bats. Neither of these were proving as simple as he’d hoped.
