Lu Ten is born into light.
The blinding rays of the noon-day sun caressed his smooth face the moment the midwife caught him, cradling his slight body in her wrinkled hands. At noon the sun is at its most potent. An heir born under such strength would surely embody that power.
In recent years, when he recalls receiving the letter that announced his son’s birth, Iroh has thought that the sun may be most potent at noon, but it is also the moment at which it begins to decline.

Iroh goes from favored crown prince and celebrated general to exiled ex-crown prince and retired general. Becoming a better person is a process, and it came at a price. Iroh tries to make sense of loss and save his nephew.

Summary
Coming up to his room, the sea witch doesn’t even bother with knocking on the door. She just bursts in abruptly with, “Harry! Get your ass up and out of-”
Her voice cuts off while taking in his still form on the bed.
“Harry.” Uma goes to him and places one of her hands on one of his bare shoulders.
As she pulls her hand away, something glittery on her palm catches her attention.
“Gods,” Uma breathes, looking back at her best friend. “Harry, what did you do?”

“How long has he been like this?” Hades asks the fairy hovering at his side.
“Since we found him this morning,” Fairy Godmother replies.
At the stroke of midnight, like something out of a fairytale.
How fitting, Hades thinks.
Then this, he looks down at the distressed, but clearly beautiful young man before him, must be my Beauty.
“Adamh… diaspore…,” the VK murmurs, “gipsum… mellite…” Tears of pearl, deep golden and blue, form in the corners of his eyes.
I’m undoubtedly the Beast in this story, Hades thinks as he reaches out to wipe away some of the brunet’s pearling teardrops.

Summary
The alleyway erupts in its noise quite the opposite of what it previously held. There is no laughter. There are no giggles or light hearted conversation and congratulations. There is just Merritt and his fist yelling, “You son of a bitch!” and the other horsemen around him pulling at him, yelling at him, while the younger magicians scream and shout at him to get away from Charlie, the mastermind behind all this destruction of the people Merrit holds dear.
Merritt barely gets in one more hit, in approximately the same spot, before Jack and Atlas are pulling him off the younger man, with Bosco grabbing at Charlie, and June looking ready to deliver a punch of her own to Merritt's face.
“Calm down, dude,” Jack tells him as the older man struggles in his hold.
“Merritt, what has gotten into you?” Henley asks in bewilderment.
The mentalist is surprised that none of the other original horsemen have put the dots together yet. Then again, Merritt always knew he was the smartest amongst them.
OR

Lee Yoon-sung feels his heart skip a beat, his usually impassive face surely displaying an unusual look of shock.
“What?”
He looks from the chairman to his mother, who is holding back tears with a smile on her face, then back to his stepfather.
“Ah! Don’t act so surprised,” the bespeckled man says. “I’ve told you before that I think of you as my son.”
“Not to mention that you more than proved your worth through what you did for me,” Jong-du continues, his voice gaining a raspy edge, “for my grandsons, time and time again.” He gives Yoon-sung a watery smile.

The only living person around at this particular alley crossroad is some dude chilling with his hands in his hoodie, looking like he’s waiting for something. He’s about Klaus’ age, good looking enough, not quite as skinny as Klaus is (“That’s because he’s probably not on drugs,” Ben helpfully reminds him) with that weird emo swoop haircut that Justin Bieber helped popularize, which is just now going out of fashion in America. (Was it going out of style here, too?)
Klaus knows the guy’s alive because he’s got four, bloody ghosties tagging along, which is also how he knows he needs another fix, ASAP.

Can a voice sound handsome? Is that a thing? Harry wonders as he licks his lips nervously.
Still, he has a mission. So he says the only reasonable thing:
“Your daughter’s a bitch.”
There’s a long pause before-
Laughter, but it’s joyous and filled with actual humor that makes Harry flush at being the source of it.
He hangs up.

"What do you mean?" Karadec questions. The blonde had only just arrived at the public middle school that featured their latest murder of the week.
"Look, it has the Gulf of America on it.” She crouches down and points with a blue gloved hand to a part of the globe that lies beside the victim’s head.

“Uncle Harry! Uncle Harry!” come the voices of two young boys who skid around the corner of what must be the kitchen to enter the main hallway. They can’t be any older than eight, with straight white-blond hair down to their shoulder and a smattering of freckles across the bridges of their noses. Both boys wear matching black rimmed glasses and white and blue striped pajamas.
The uncle in question turns and kneels down as soon as he shuts the door behind her, catching the twins in his arms as they barrel into him - obviously a feat well practiced.
“Boys, wha’ have I told ya abou’ runnin’ in the apartment?” he scolds, but his smile is gentle as both boys pull back to look at him.
“Not to?” one of them says, suddenly shy. The other twin dares to glance at Audrey before hiding his face in his uncle’s shoulder upon meeting her gaze.
Harry just sighs, shaking his head. “Aren’t you two supposed ta be in bed?”

“Audrey is not here,” she tells them, picking up a water gun, “but she is somewhere else in Auradon.”
There are terrified whispers and cries at this.
“But,” Jane carries on calmly, “her magic can be broken with enchanted lake water.” She gestures to the pile of super-soakers she’s piled up beside her, some already filled. “Take one, fill it up if it’s not already. Some of you should take a bucket, too, so you can refill your guns.”
Many of her classmates are looking more hopeful now.
“We are the sons and daughters of heroes and sidekicks,” Jane continues. “It’s up to us to free our friends and get them to safety—to this lake.” There are some nods and some murmurs of agreement at this. “And it is up to us to try and contact the rest of Auradon, see how far this reaches, and put a stop to it.”
“Now, who’s with me?!” Jane asks, raising her super soaker into the air.
“Yeah!” someone agrees.
“Aye!”
“For Auradon!”

Jane and her enchanted lake water could have solved all the problems in Descendants 3.

“He’s really pretty.”
Jay is quick to snatch up the magazine.
“Who is this guy?” the former thief asks as he begins to flip through the pages. “How'd he even get to be a model?”
The daughter of the Evil Queen plucks the magazine out of her friend’s hands, pointedly giving him a look of disapproval for his careless crumpling of the pages.
Jay holds his hands up in surrender.
Turning her attention to the magazine, Evie’s mouth forms an impressed ‘o’ at the pages she gently moves through. She toys with her heart necklace as she lands on a particularly striking one of the young man in black heeled boots, fishnet stockings, and a red dress with short sleeves off the shoulders.
“I would love for him to model for me.”

They always came up empty.
However, thirteen years after the birth of their daughter, Maleficent “Mal” Bertha, their fragile hope may have just paid off.

Maleficent misses being a protector to other fae, to the Moors. So when she and Diaval discover the existence of a boy who’s laughter sounds like bells, they make it a priority to see that the child is cared for.

It’s as Underworld is being ushered on stage that Hades looks over at them.
His striking blue eyes lock with Harry’s sea green ones.
The brunet swears his heart stops.
The taller rocker slows his steps, and he breaks eye contact briefly to flick his eyes up and down Harry’s form.
The man huffs a laugh as his eyes return to the young rocker’s. Hades’ gaze is dark and full of promises before his attention is pulled away by his band’s name being shouted over the loudspeaker.
With one last lingering glance at Harry, the man licking his pink lips, which Harry’s eyes dutifully follow, Hades makes his way on stage, guitar in hand, his fellow band members following behind.
“Harry, are you even listening to me?” Uma asks.
“Hm?” He tilts his head towards her, not able to tear his eyes away from the older rocker.
