“You took a lot out of him, you greedy girl,” Theo says softly into her hair with a touch of a laugh, “and he took on more than he needed to, of course, the selfish git.”
She follows him with her eyes, the questions too hard to voice, still afraid of the pain of her ruined throat. He cuddles Draco against his chest, propping him up. “I’m taking this one for the team, you know,” he said, his voice still gentle, his eyes still playful, “Remember that I’m here for you too, darling.”
He swipes his fingers through her blood still cooling on the floor around her and smears it gently on Draco’s lips as though applying a layer of gloss. It shines for a moment before Draco’s lips part, before his tongue darts out, before he licks at the drip at the corner and he… moans.

Not in how he was required to carry himself. Not in taking the Dark Mark. Not in his first mission as a slave to the Dark Lord. Not in what would happen in his future.
Hermione Granger was now giving him choices over his own life, and he wouldn't fuck it up.

She had left him some time ago; She promised to reward him if he waited patiently for her. The ropes drag across his wrists as he rotates his forearms, it’s just rough enough to rasp against his skin pleasantly. His thighs flex, rolling his hips upwards in the chair. She had left him fully clothed. The windsor knot presses too-tightly to the front of his throat and his cufflinks dig into his wrists under the rope. He curls his toes in his dragonhide boots.
