Summary
One late night in December, Sonic wakes up to find a Wendigo-hedgehog-looking creature on his porch tangled up in some Christmas lights. After freeing it, he does the next sensible thing and invites it into his home for the holidays.
Basically: A wild Shadow appears on Sonic's doorstep and he decides to adopt them. Tails has no problems with this but their friends have questions. As does Shadow.

Summary
Rouge considers herself a practical and pragmatic thinker. One who doesn't entertain ideas of the supernatural, unliving, or the otherworldly. Not like the rest of her staff. Yes, for as promising as Sonic's friends were, their wild imaginations were doing nothing but clouding their judgement. Making them goof off with ghost stories while their hardworking manager handled keeping things together behind the scenes.
But a small part of her couldn't help but wonder: do they have a point? Is there really something... mysterious, or even mystical, going on in the Seaside Hotel?
Rouge honestly doesn't know, but she has her suspicions, and they all point to the elusive enigma that is Shadow.
One way or another, she's going to get some answers.

Summary
Sonic's life was simple: he worked at an old hotel with his friends Tails, Knuckles, and Amy under the keen yet greedy eye of Rouge. Sure money wasn't great and restoration work was hard, but the hedgehog was content. As long as he earned enough to support his little brother, that was all he needed.
Everything gets turned upside down when Sonic encounters Seaside Hotel's resident ghost: an ebony hedgehog named Shadow. He's quiet, elusive, bejewelled in a dazzling outfit, and mute to everyone except Sonic. If the blue hedgehog wasn't even around, he refused to show his face.
The more Sonic hangs out with them, the more he wants to learn. Just who is Shadow the Hedgehog? What is his connection to Seaside Hotel?
Sonic isn't sure what lies at the bottom of that rabbit hole, but he is determined to take the leap.

Summary

When a messenger from the rebellion in New Yolk (once the site of the Doom Empire's capital city) arrives with a rumor for Sonic, the hedgehog leaps at the chance to get revenge at those that harmed the people he loved. But it's not as easy as it appears, with a tangled web of words and actions. Everyone has their secrets and their motives. The shadows are full of secrets, promises, and deals are made. The line between truth and lies, friends and foes, and dark and light has fogged and blurred beyond recognition.
But one thing is clear in Sonic's mind: he will do what he must, no matter the cost.

Sonic grew used to it nonetheless, accustoming himself to Shadow's refusal to show weakness. Carefully watching for winces, or for pauses in Shadow's speech, quickly became the only sure-fire way to tell if he was injured.
