Alternate summary, according to TV Tropes: A man attempts to escape slavery by turning into one of his culture heroes, teaching his daughter how to do magic, killing people, and flower arranging.

Or - Luke Skywalker, hero of the Rebel Alliance, minutes after learning his true parentage, wakes up in a strange place, full of strange people. The artifact glowed in Kenobi’s hands, consuming his entire body in a brilliant crystal blue. Dooku watched—half horrified, half entranced—as the box split open, the brush of the unifying force breathing in sync with the living. "A single touch from a single soul creates an unimaginable shift in the force," the descriptions of the artifact had uttered. The words couldn’t even begin to describe the shift in the air, the impenetrable tick of gears turning. And then, almost as soon as it began, the swirling blue light tucked itself back into the artifact with a soft hiss, leaving behind a man who was nothing like the general Dooku knew.
Standing in front of him was a young Jedi Knight who looked very much afraid.
“Grandmaster?” Obi-Wan whispered.
Or in other words: During the late Clone Wars, Obi-Wan accidentally touches an ancient Jedi artifact, which transports his grieving Post-Naboo self into the future to take his place. Somehow this saves the galaxy.

Summary
This work uses the Wookieepedia definition of Star Wars Legends, i.e. everything that was considered canon before the timeline reset, including the first 6 seasons of The Clone Wars. I made this decision because I am more familiar with TCW than I am with CWMMP and I thought it would be easier for me to write it like this.
A few weeks after the death of Emperor Palpatine at the Battle of Endor, Mara Jade discovers a Sith holocron that has the power to send her back in time. Knowing only that Palpatine has commanded her to kill Luke Skywalker and that Luke is the son of Anakin Skywalker, she transports herself back to the Clone Wars to prevent Luke's birth by killing his father before he is conceived. Unbeknownst to her, the holocron's gatekeeper, an ancient Sith Lord who does not approve of the Rule of Two, decides to send Luke back with her to spite Palpatine. While Luke and the Jedi Council work in secret to stop Palpatine, Mara tries to help him accelerate his plans for galactic domination. But the more time she spends in the past, the more she realizes that she shouldn't believe everything she was taught about the Empire.
