This fanfic is inspired by Revenant, A Cloudy Path, and Playing with Lego’s. I have a particular soft spot for the Cybran faction of Supreme commander, but unlike in these inspirations, Taylor will have a regular Queen Administrator power. Instead of having canon Supreme Commander sized units, they will be scaled down. The ACU is 3m (9.82ft) tall and all the other units are the same relative size. As much as I like all the fictions that inspire this attempt, they all essentially end once Taylor really gets going and has the full army available. So, I am going about it slightly differently and hope you enjoy the ride.
This fic assumes you have read Worm. Any scenes that are too similar to Worm get summarized briefly.

Imagine a newbie fanfic author. Imagine that author deciding to start with a crossover fic. Imagine that same author being told the dangers of Jumping The Shark, saying "bet" and then very intentionally and gleefully jumping 5 to 10 sharks in rapid succession, snorting cocaine off the back of their hand and whooping like a madman all the while.
You have imagined something similar to Cybernetic Worm. It is a glorious testament to hubris and a glorious experiment in how far you can take this shit before it just gets silly. Read at your own peril and delight.

While I don't necessarily entirely agree with the author's politics (no matter how successful a revolution is the chance of one leaving the strong institutions necessary for a functioning society is slim to none), this is, at the end of the day, a very good piece of fiction about two people who have the power to change the world and what they choose to do with that power. I consider them both to be tragic figures: one because she's given up on bettering humanity and the world, and the other because she can't let go of her rage enough to take a step back and see the forest for the trees.
The act of kindness and solidarity portrayed in the last few chapters will do more to effect positive change than any dead king or billionaire, or any grey eminence pulling the strings. Their power is built on ideas of divine right and hyperindividualism. Both are less powerful than the much simpler idea that we can help each other to help each other.
And I think that's beautiful.
P.S. if you like this fic you should go watch revolutionary girl utena. the last handful of episodes are some of the greatest television I've ever seen and it has A Lot To Say.
