[I finally updated the summary! Yay!]
It turns out the World Tree underestimated the power of her oldest root... and because of it, Cale's immortal, and turning into some kind of being with Eldritch power.
This story follows Cale (and his Ancient Powers!) learning how to deal with his growing abilities, having fluffy times with his family members, and just maybe end up worrying them a little bit by not explaining anything! (Classic Cale shenanigans.)

I was slightly inspired by His Dark Materials trilogy in terms of scholar/explorers and the magical arctic setting, but this is a wholly separate AU and doesn't have any other HDM elements except for daemons.

He had to move on.
Maybe it’s for the better. Yuuri was never special enough to touch him in the first place, much less be his soulmate.
