Can exploring caves land you in a hobbit's pantry? It happened to Sara Miller. Taken from the 21st century, she must navigate through middle-earth to find a way back home. But to do so she will have to understand why the Valar have sent her in the first place, something even Gandalf does not know. All Sara wants to do is return home so she can resume the search for her family but now she is stuck going on this insane quest.
Why are wizard's so capricious? Thorin has first hand experience with one, namely Gandalf. Thorin is determined to reclaim his home in Erebor for his people and was even prepared to accept a hobbit on the quest. But now Gandalf insists that if he wants his help he must allow a woman from another world into his company as well. But just because the wizard brings her along doesn't mean Thorin has to play nice. Who is this woman anyhow and why is Mahal's mark on her hand?

Summary
Cosima wakes with no memories, no idea where she is, and no way home. Men who call themselves 'elves' offer to take her with them to the nearest Elven city, and, though she has no reason to trust them, she finds herself becoming quite close with them -- with one stoic ellon in particular. She struggles to choose between finding a way to the home she can't remember and risking everything to stay in a world that could very possibly claim her life.
Haldir had no plans to add a human woman to his company, but it would be a terrible thing to leave her to continue to wander the plains alone. He tries to keep his distance, but by the time they reach Imladris, he realizes that he's more attached to her than he should be. Not only is she human, and he is not, but he is a leader in a world that is rapidly preparing for war. He should deposit her in a human village or help her find her way home -- yet he can't bring himself to do either.
Set three years before the Fellowship of the Ring.

Summary
Fleeing the Balrog and Orcs in Moria, Legolas Greenleaf is shot down with an arrow. He dies upon the bridge, unaware of the fates of his Fellowship, and wakes up moments later with the intention of finding his mother, escaping the Halls of Mandos and re-joining the War of the Ring. This would be a lot easier if he was actually in the Halls of Mandos however, instead of at Losgar as the Noldor arrive in Beleriand from Valinor for the first time.
